𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 = 𝗞𝗲𝘆 🔑⁣
We have gotten used to RUNNING LIKE H*ll away from communication, to our ABSOLUTELY DETRIMENT because it makes us uncomfortable. UNCOMFORTABLE, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳, yet we run like a lion thinks we are a zebra🦓. ⁣
When 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. Or, at minimum letting go of the "hold on emotions or information". I challenge you to create a culture alongsides me, based in truth even in hard, cringe-worthy moments. I truely believe & experienced that everything can be worked through when there is honest & tactful conversation about it. Now, don’t get riled up and start asking...what about ___, just keep reading & breathing! Oooosaaa. ⁣

The "harm" that we fear &, therefore, use as reasoning to not communicate is not directly linked. Harm is an inverse variable in the equation. Harm happens more so when communication is withheld & 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳. We had a great training session for our 1st Womens Open Mat 🥋💃 & had to go to work before we got a picture, but there were 6 of us! .montes & .kasey. ⁣
⁣
As a team of women, we came together to decide what we NEEDed to help our passion of BJJ improve. Our focus for open mat is to be time to DRILL, get LOTS of REPS in. Most people if given the choice to roll or drill, would rather roll because that's the fun part. However, we want to emulate iron sharpening iron, get the reps in, and be willing to criticize & analyze movement until we are technically sound. Together, we decided that we want to build confidence by creating movement patterns of solid technique. Knowing that technique is built in the reps after reps of intentional drilling. 🤙⁣
⁣
🙏Thank you ladies for being committed to our community where we don't settle for mediocry or being pushed to the sidelines. Each of us are high-value, high-integrity women that full time students, career based, moms, sisters...but our labels don't stop there. We are proud MARTIAL ARTISTS. We push each other to exceed our potential both ON & OFF the mats. For one sword doesn't sharpen because in comparison, the other blade simply became dull. No, iron sharpens iron.

Luna was the unexpected adoption in 2019. Originally fostered by the sweetest people .n & ⁣
I renamed her Luna after Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter Series, because if you don’t know I’m a massive Harry Potter Nerd ⚡️⁣
🐕‍🦺⁣
Luna is 1/2 Dalmatian & 1/2 Australian Shepard; and good gracious! Her energy levels and personality are proof of both those breeds. After some training on a running belt she has a wonderful running partner. The moment my running shoes are out of the closet she is sitting at my feet waiting for her harness. Luna is a whole new level of accountability partner, not letting me go more than two days before she starts pacing in front of the cabinet with her gear in it. ⁣

She has been a blessing of laughter watching her zoom around the yard, play hide & seek with Geronimo and then straight up wrestle my cat! ⁣
🐩⁣
Luna is my reminder for patience and grace in training. The cuddle buddy who will literally lay on whatever side of your body is the topside 😆the most excited welcome home & energized good mornings zoomies every single day! I’m so blessed to have Luna as my pupper even on the days her energy is more than I know what to do with! ⁣

Let’s see what we can turn those stressful holiday dinners from stress into something that cultivates family culture & pride...What will that then do to our culture as a country & as humanity? ⁣

We must shift how this country operates on the most intimate level, our homes & our closest circles of friends, before we can even begin to change our governing institutions. ⁣
⁣
“Hear no evil, see no evil, say no evil”, is not to say that we are to become complacent & bystanders. The intent is that we must not only give but TEACH how to love, come to peace, & cultivate a community inclusive of unique identities that make us as a COLLECTIVE HUMANITY. ⁣

Don’t just be the change that you only wish, but be the change that you are currently demanding of society. ⁣
⁣
Instead of “hear no evil, see no evil, say no evil”...⁣

May we make peace with the past & with those that differ from us. May we make peace by learning not erasing. ⁣

May we ‘Shake/hang loose’ (include the unique identities that gives the US such a rich blending of humanity) May we lift each other up so that everyone can contribute to society in ways that are unique to their passions & abilities. ⁣

May we give more love than deserved. Because remember ... The Godhead gave more love than what we deserved & claimed us all as His! Don’t just “kill them with kindness”, Drench them with the same love that’s been given unto you when you least deserved it. ⁣

Peace.Shaka.Love=OHANA = so that we may have a culture that upholds the sense of OHANA. We are all humanity. May we shine brightly individually so that we may shine brighter as a COLLECTIVE HUMANITY. ⁣

To change the institutions that run this country we have to look at ourselves. We the people must be the change in not only our words but actions. ⁣

How?⁣

Take a look at your family dynamics. How many of us are guilty of horrific family rifts that linger for years? If we are complaining & feed up with the institutions that run this country... start with how you run your household in times of conflict & pain. ⁣
“Let them be forgiven, let them be fathered” by love & mercy. ⁣
⁣
Change comes from the BOTTOM up. ⁣
⁣
I’m not speaking to a singular demographic- if you’re human- I’m speaking to you. ⁣
⁣
If we all shift the way we talk & treat those closest to us...imagine the shift, the ripple effect that then creates. ⁣
⁣
Whether it’s an argument over hurt feelings or an argument on someone desperately wanting the support from their loved ones on their crazy dreams ... In each upset may we teach forgiveness, teach how to give & receive love, may we offer support & encouragement on those weird unique passions our loved ones want to make into a crazy entrepreneurial dream. ⁣

How do we even know where to begin doing that? Think about the people who you admire-Olympians, global heroes - go watch the interviews with their family & friends. Those homes are grounded upon LOVE. Making Peace with crazy differences. & ‘Shaka/hanging loose’ with accepting everyone for who they are & teaching & supplying them with all the love & support they need... look at the outcome... Olympians, local Heroes. ⁣

Hey Beautiful People ⚡️⁣

So often we think that change comes from the top down. That we need leadership to make the radical changes. However the greatest movements in human history come from when WE the people make the ground rumble. WHEN WE THE PEOPLE BECOME THE CHANGE. ⁣
⁣
That doesn’t mean violence. I think it means that we are to realize that change happens from the inside out. If we want our society to change; we must change the way we behave in our homes & communities. ⁣
⁣
No matter what side of the argument you stand on, we have to BOTH receive & learn AND give & teach some things. it’s forgiving someone who wronged you & simultaneously teach them via grace. Furthermore, we must be patient in teaching our new generational views because those hateful thought processes have been ingrained over generations. Don’t judge someone for what they were taught from their parents. Let us not meet hate with judgement or more hate just because someone hasn’t been afforded the environment to learn otherwise. Be willing to show them a new way, be willing to prove the hateful blinders unnecessary. ⁣
