IAGL Partnering with the IAPGA to Increase Indian PGA Golfers
The IAGL is proud to announce their partnership with the IAPGA to create a new mini-tour in the U.S.A. to help bring professional golfers from India to the U.S.A. to provide them opportunities to play in the PGA Tour.
We have been working closely with the IAPGA to create this mini-tour in the U.S.A. for professional golfers from India during their off-season to raise money to enter into PGA events and have enlisted the support of celebrity players like Jev Milka Singh, Arjun Atwal, Daniel Chopra and Jyoti Randhawa in this effort.
After much anticipation, this new IAPGA Golf Tour begins this summer with an 18-city, 45-day tour throughout the U.S. Over 18 internationally ranked golfers from India who have played on the European Tour, the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour-India are participating in this year's event.
Besides Houston, TX, other major cities included for this year's tour are: New York, NY; Minneapolis, MN; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Columbus, OH; Las Vegas, NV; and Seattle, WA; to name a few.
The Houston stop for this event includes an invitation-only Pro-am golf tournament with these top ranked Indian pro's on July 28, 2015 in Sugar Land, Texas, which includes private group lessons before the round and dinner after the round.
For this inaugural year, opportunities to participate in this event are limited to event sponsors and IAGL members. If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor, please contact Saji Samuel ([email protected]) or Rachel Varghese (713-231-8362) or visit theiapga.org.
In helping put together this mini-tour, our goal is replicate the successes of the Korean grassroots community in helping bring golfers from South Korea into the U.S. PGA tour by creating similar grassroots support for Indian golfers from India, with the hope of eventually increasing the number of Indian-origin golfers playing on the PGA tour.
