2021 - Division 1 The Sugar Land Sharks summer swim team has a long and rich history of serving the recreational needs of the youth of Sugar Land. For more than 50 years, our home has been the City of Sugar Land Municipal Pool, located at 225 7t

h Street, Sugar Land, TX 77478 in the City Park near the corner of Main and 7th Street. The pool was originally constructed in 1967 when the Sugar Land Lions Club and Imperial Sugar Company’s Kempner Foundation raised the $35,000 needed to construct a 25-meter junior Olympic-size pool. A swim team was formed shortly thereafter, and that team has been in continuous operation ever since. Today is known as the Sugar Land Sharks and competes in the Southwest Houston Recreational Swim League.

Well, the weather is NOT cooperating today. Just a friendly reminder: PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SWIM TODAY IF POSSIBLE!

Thought we'd share some potential modifications:
~ LATER START TIME
~ COMBINE/SHORTEN WARM-UPS - SHARE LANES
~ Skip warm-ups for 6U altogether
~ TRY TO GET THROUGH BACKSTROKE

CONSIDER this as a plan:
Start with 6U Free Relays > Move to IMs & Individuals > THEN MEDLEY RELAYS & FREE RELAYS.

CONSIDER dropping relays altogether and get through individuals (especially those who still have NT)

PLEASE ONLY CANCEL EVENTS IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! Communicate with your opposing team and make decisions TOGETHER that are best for both teams!

Cold weather in May? Crazy! 🥶
Due to morning temperatures in the 50s, we’ve decided to postpone Saturday’s Stroke Clinic to next Saturday (5/9) — Sharks don’t love cold water!

🍕 Good news — Meet the Coaches at Parry’s Pizza is still ON!
We hope everyone can join us from 12:00–2:00 PM. It’s a great chance to connect with coaches and teammates outside of the pool.

Plus, it’s a Sharks Spirit Day, which helps us raise money for fun extras like Friday sno cones! 🦈🍧
