Leonardo Xavier is a fifth degree black belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu with over 25 years of experience teaching authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. An United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee, and a multiple time World Tournament Medalist, Pan American and Brazilian National Champion, he is the only jiu-jitsu professor in the Houston area certified to teach by Master Rickson Gracie and by the original and most traditional jiu-jitsu school in the world, the Academia Gracie de Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Gracie Humaitá Academy.) Recognized as a world-class authority of the art and one of its most charismatic professors, few people can match his deep technical knowledge and his passion for teaching. His mission is to continue the legacy of his instructors by preserving and sharing the principles of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu with the community as a complete self-defense system that can benefit anyone regardless of age, gender or athletic ability. Iniciou nas artes marciais aos 5 anos de idade através do judô e posteriormente tae kwon do. Aos 15 anos de idade - motivado por um amigo - iniciou a prática do jiu-jitsu e se identificou imediatamente com a arte, destacando-se como aluno e atleta. Antes mesmo de chegar a faixa-preta (shodan) começou a se destacar, também, como instrutor. Leo, é reconhecido no meio das artes marciais e na comunidade do jiu-jitsu como um dos mais conceituados e carismáticos professores de jiu-jitsu do mundo.
