We love archery and want to share our enthusiasm with fellow archers! Southeast Virginia's Premier Target Archery Club!!
We are an archery club promoting the use of the bow and arrow for Pleasure, Sport, Competition and Bowhunting. Our range is located in the Lone Star Lakes Park in Suffolk, Virginia. Founded in 1979, the Kingsboro Bowmen have been a mainstay in the local archery community. We are chartered with Archery Shooters Association (ASA) and host Virginia and North Carolina State ASA Qualifier shoots each y
ear. Kingsboro Bowmen was found in 1979 and chartered with the Virginia Bowhunters Association (VBA) in 1982. Charter members were Pete King, William Powell, Tim Miller, Dwight Cooley, and June Cooley. The purpose was to promote the use of the bow and arrow for Hunting, Sport and Competitive Archery. Pete’s house in the “Kingsboro neighborhood” was the location for early novelty shoots. They built there first field range at the Joyner sand pit owned by member Bobby Davis on Lake Cahoon Road. Field Archery and indoor tournaments in the area were hots spots of active participation of club members. Other early members included, Ken and Kathy Cliton, Thomas “Gene” Batten and Harry Allen. The field range was relocated to Lone Star Lakes Park in Chuckatuck, a village in Suffolk, VA in 1990. We have a roving 3D range consisting of approximately 50 different lanes for a variety of shoot layouts. The GPS Coordinates for entrance to the park are N36-52-33, W76-35-02. The physical street address is: 401 Kings Highway, Suffolk, VA 23432. The club has been involved with Indoor Archery tournaments since 1985. We organized and held weekly indoor leagues for 10 years at the Tidewater Community College. We also hosted the VBA State Indoor Championship at TCC from 1986-1996 when the tournament was held at a single location. The excellent facilities were host to some great shoots with all archers competing head to head with their competitors. The college renovated in 1997 and we lost the location. From 2009-2022, we hosted the Eastern Leg of the VBA State Indoor Championships using Wilcox Indoor Archery Range in Newport News. We currently host two club sponsored indoor tournaments (Lancaster Warm up and 2D ASA Indoor). Nearby attractions include: Smithfield VA, Ham Capital of the World, Williamsburg, Mariners Museum in Newport News, and Virginia Beach of course. The NC beach of Nag Heads and Duck are only two hours away.

As of right now the park will be shut down through Sunday February 1st and depending on the severity of the weather it could go on longer we will keep you posted as we get updates but for now there will be zero access to Lone Star Lakes Park this weekend.

Hello everyone just a quick reminder that the south side of the park where the archery range is located will be closed this weekend due to the Nansemond Tribes annual pow wow. Members will not have access to the archery range again until Monday.
Also as a friendly reminder when the range is open it is only open to members. We are not currently accepting new members as the year is more than halfway over and the season is about to end... we will start accepting memberships again after our final shoot on September 7th for the 2026 season.

The time has arrived... tomorrow is our Hunters for the Hungry Charity Shoot. Registration will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and continue until noon. Shooters will be able to start heading back to begin their shoots once they have completed registration.
Please remember that tomorrow's event is a minimum $20 cash donation per shooter ages 13 and up and 100% of Shooter Fees will be donated to Hunters for the Hungry!
If you are new to the archery world and have never experienced a 3D shoot this is the perfect place to start and we would love for you to join us to learn the ropes and benefit an amazing cause.

Members****
Please be paying close attention to your emails as information went out today about the app for the club that will start being used on a regular basis. As most of you know we will start accepting memberships for 2026 after our final shoot in September. For 2026 membership cards you will only receive them electronically through the app so you will need the app to get your membership card, also for 2026 you will need the app when checking in to use the range at Lone Star Lakes Park.. There is plenty of time for you to get the app now and start familiarizing yourself with the functionality so that as we start moving and transitioning to our 2026 memberships you are ready. The leadership of the club are excited about this rollout as it will make things far easier for us and will eliminate the problem of people not getting our messages because they don't use social media.
