I have very exciting news!!

I will be teaching at East Coast Aquatic Center in Portsmouth!

If you have reached out to me about lessons, please send me your email so I can send information about this session starting in June!

I see a lot of drowning stories being in the ISR community and they are all tragically sad. This week has been weighing extra on me with at least three recent children drowning. Please take the dangers of water seriously. Yes, it’s so much fun and kids love it, but drowning is the NUMBER ONE cause of accidental deaths in children ages 1-4 years old. Be vigilant. Put up the barriers. Buy the fence. Install the high locks. Put in the door alarms. The pool alarms. Get your children in quality survival swimming lessons and do not teach them to depend on flotation devices in the pool. Only use them in open water and on boats. Flotation devices give children a false sense of security and they do not realize that it’s the flotation device keeping them afloat. It also puts them in a vertical position in the water (drowning position) which they will revert to if they get into the water without the flotation device because of their muscle memory.

Hi everyone!

I was hoping to be able to teach in the Suffolk area this Spring, but it’s been difficult to find an indoor pool location to teach at. I am also unable to teach this summer. I am hopeful that I will be able to teach next year. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and thank you to everyone who has reached out about lessons! I hope to see you next year!

If you’re traveling for the holidays, stay vigilant when staying in a new environment that may have a pool, hot tub, or other source of water. Accidents happen often when traveling because our guards are down and we aren’t used to that danger being present. Make sure doors are locked, pool gates are closed, alarms are on, etc! Happy Thanksgiving! Stay safe!
