A Prayer of Remembrance and Peace

God of compassion and strength, We pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We hold in our hearts the families who still grieve, and all who carry physical and emotional scars.

We honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger to save others. In a dark hour, we witnessed profound unity and selflessness.

Lord, bring comfort to the brokenhearted and grant us the strength to stand together in peace, rejecting hatred and choosing compassion.

May we never forget, and may love have the last word.

Long Island MSBL is proud to honor Laura Doherty as a member of the 2026 MSBL Hall of Fame Class.

For more than 25 years, Laura has dedicated herself to the game of baseball and the players who have been fortunate enough to learn from her leadership, passion, and commitment. Through countless practices, games, and seasons, she has helped shape the lives of players both on and off the field, embodying the values that make our league and our community special.

Laura’s induction is especially historic as she becomes the first female inductee in MSBL Hall of Fame history—a milestone that reflects not only her remarkable contributions to the league but also the lasting impact she has made throughout the baseball community.

Her tireless dedication, unwavering support of her players, and commitment to growing the game have left an indelible mark on the MSBL for more than two decades. She has earned the respect of players, coaches, families, and league officials alike, serving as a role model and ambassador for the sport she loves.

Today, we celebrate a true pioneer, mentor, and champion of baseball.

Congratulations, Laura, on this well-deserved honor and thank you for 25 years of service to the MSBL.
