Have you seen Sturgis ballpark the last few days???? The new fences the city bought for us has changed the look of the whole ballpark!! Pictures truly don’t do it justice so make sure you drive by and take a peek!! More updates still to come but it’s already starting to look nicer. So far we’ve had dirt work done to 3 fields, a nice temporary fence put up on 2 fields and we’ve built new benches. Again I can’t thank everyone enough that has had a hand in these things but thank you so so much!!

Thanks to Adam Onan, Jim Ricketts, and the city of Sturgis the dirt work has started. Big thanks to home center for donating wood for new dugout benches and the volunteers that donated their day to build them! Things are looking up Sturgis!!

Ballpark Parents,
We had our meeting today, Adam Onan Jim Ricketts Doug Rodgers was in attendance along with some sturgis city council members the union county baseball youth league board and some concerned parents. I feel that we got a lot of things accomplished! First off I want to thank each and everyone of you for taking time out of your Sunday afternoon to attend today. Sturgis here is a list of things expected to see happening at the Sturgis ballpark the next few weeks.
-Any safety concern taken care of immediately
-dirt work done to the big field middle field and far softball field.
-temporary baseball fence ordered for the middle field and far softball field
-lights replaced that are out
- getting estimates for big field fence and getting replaced.
- however on some of the fencing it also depends on market and how fast they can get that to us.

Again thank you everyone for showing up today, and thanks to everyone for their support!

City of Sturgis and Union County ballpark parents, I know some of you are concerned with the appearance of Sturgis ballpark. I want you to know that Demi and I (Jeremy May) along with several others are trying to get things done. We have been in contact with mayor Doug Rodgers about grants. Jim Ricketts has been a huge help to us and continues to be our voice in the court house. Sturgis needs a lot of work these ballfields have been neglected and band aided for far too long. There is several safety hazards and concerns on our list but would love to hear your concerns Sunday April 24th at 4pm at the Sturgis ballfields. Mayor Doug Rodgers is supposed to be in attendance and we’ve reached out to county officials as well. The union county youth baseball board will also be present to answer question and listen to any concerns. There’s me and a small group of parents that would be glad to do any work needed but when it comes to funding there’s a lot of that needed. Some of the things needed is new fencing temporary fencing for 2 fields approximately $3000 a field. The dirt work needed is approximately 3-4000 per field. Show up strong Sunday Sturgis and Union county ballpark parents. If you or any businesses would like to donate to any of these projects contact Demi or Jeremy May. Thank you for all of your support. I WILL NOT keep my mouth shut until the kids get a ballpark they deserve!!
