Any idea why this custom rod should be named after the Stonefly? During a recent photo of our newly built Rainshadow 3 wt. 4 piece Revelation fly rod a stonefly photobombed unbeknownst to us until after we had a second look at the photo. See if you can spot the stonefly hanging out? Great photo-it’s amazing what is posing in nature just waiting for that photo opportunity. We build rods for all seasons… stonefly included.

Calvin used his Door County Custom Rod at Priest Lake, ID vertical jigging Lake Trout. Our medium power, fast action rods provide great sensitivity for vertical jigging in deep water. Great job Calvin. He’s a great fisherman, sportsman, and young man. It’s great to watch him grow and we’re proud to be part of his fishing journey! We build rods for all seasons…. and applications, including vertical jigging lake trout.

We put away the trout rods momentarily to fish for these Green Bay monsters. Luke has been full speed ahead with rod building and enjoying the days before he sets off on his next adventure. We build rods for all seasons.

Field testing is essential in rod building. We have been focused on building and field testing the best 3 and 5 weight fly rods available. It’s hard to beat aggressive native brook trout on a dry fly, especially in the heart of summer. We build rods for all seasons.
