Year after year after year - a threat to change the momentum of the game with one swing. Darius Washington had another monster season. He hit 0.429 ( #5 in the league), with 24 hits ( #3 in the league), 8 doubles (tied #1 in the league), 5 home runs (tied for #2 in the league), 21 RBIs ( #3 in the league), 0.875 SLG % ( #2 in the league), and a 1.359 OPS ( #2 in the league). Congratulations to Darius as he was voted the 2026 Best Hitter by the managers!

Congratulations to Robinson Reyes of the Cleveland Marlins who was voted as the 2026 Best Pitcher! Robinson had a 4-1 season, of which he had 9 appearances ( #1 in the league). He amassed 61 strike outs ( #1 in the league) over 39.1 innings ( #1 in the league) while allowing only 4 walks - an absurd 61/4 K/BB ratio. His 2.31 ERA was second in the league while leading the league in WHIP (1.07). Congratulations to El Ace, Robinson Reyes, on back to back All League Pitcher awards!

Congratulations to Jared Carpenter on winning this year’s MVP award! Jared had a legendary season for Goathouse. He led the league in hits (32), average (0.552), tied for the lead in doubles (8), tied for the lead in triples (3), 12th in the league in RBIs (13), tied for 4th in stolen bases (5), 4th in OBP (0.559), 4th in SLG (0.793), and 3rd in OPS (1.352). An everyday third basemen that could fill in anywhere in the infield that also took the mound when needed. Congrats Jared on a stellar season!!!

Rain unfortunately ended our Home Run Derby early. Currently, Stephen James, Brenden Spaulding and Dorssys Paulino are the remaining hitters left. We are going to find a date to finish the derby! Thank you to everyone who competed!

Saturday’s Home Run Derby has been moved up to 4:00PM due to the potential bad weather in the evening. The contestant list has been finalized and we can’t wait for tomorrow. All volunteers of all ages are welcome to help s**g fly balls for the competition. Also this year there will be no food truck so plan accordingly!

Our 4th Annual Home Run Derby will be next Saturday August 22nd at 5:00 PM at State Road Park. More details and contestants to come. Darius Washington will be there to defend his title!

Cleveland Marlins World Series run ends with a loss to the Hackensack Troasts. Absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed of boys. You represented the league and Northeast Ohio so well and we’re all proud of you!
