Help me Welcome our newest Field Staff Member

Coy Childers Jr.

I was born and raised in the small town of Watson Louisiana. I have been chasing the wild turkey since the young age of 8 years old. It was at that age in which I harvested my first turkey on a youth hunt with my dad using an old H&R 410 and Wi******er . As the great Tom Kelly said “i do not hunt turkeys because i want to, i hunt them because i have to”! I now call southern Mississippi and the homochitto national forest my stomping grounds. I also get to travel the country hunting public grounds not only for wild turkey but deer as well. I’m an avid outdoorsman and live for hunting and fishing, it’s who I am. My loving wife and I have a beautiful 6 year old little girl that has now joined me in my obsession of turkey hunting. Through blessings from Jesus Christ we will get to hunt these magnificent birds together for years to come!

STUD ALERT

Swamp Boy’s Field Staff Member Justin Reeves took this Stud on a hunt recently. Justin was using The Camo Him from Swamp Boy’s Custom Calls.

Man it was perfect, I missed him the second morning of season and gave him a few days to move back in and relax and I went back in there Saturday morning and heard him gobble on the limb so I looped him and got above him. Found a good big pine tree with some thick behind me and set up. Waited till I heard him fly down and I did a fly down cackle and whooped my hat on the side of the tree, he gobbled so I cut at him and fired him up and then went silent on him. Wasn't a few minutes later he stepped out in the lane in front of me at 25 yards and the rest was history. Killed using nothing but the camo hen. When I reached down and picked him up I was shook!! Inch and a half spur on one side 1 3/8 on the other, 10 1/2 inch beard. My personal best bird to date.

This has been a week I’ll never forget as long as I live. Swamp Boy’s Mafia members Jeffrey Wood,Ethan Prevatt and Kelly Altman on a hunt in South Florida. We pulled off a triple one evening and man what a hunt it was.
