STUDENT SPOTLIGHT! Shoutout to Chris Pollak on his great summer golf season. Chris will be a Junior at Hoban this year and spent his summer practicing and competing. He finished 6th at the AJGA Future Legends, 7th at the Ohio Junior, 15th at the Hudson Junior AND made match play USGA Junior Championship! Each of these accomplishments has only made him that much tougher of a competitor; just in time for this high school season!

Student Spotlight time! This week we’re giving a big shoutout to Bradley Chill Jr. Over the past few weeks this summer, he’s been firing some great scores. He’s no secret to the grind summer golf tournaments bring, and he’s here for it! Below are some of his recent finishes. Keep up the great work Bradley!

-Dye Junior @ Crooked Stick: 74-73-73. Tied for 5th

-AJGA @ Otter Creek, Columbus Indiana: 71-69-71. 2nd place

-AJGA at Penn State: 74-69-70. 9th place

Help us fight food insecurity while competing against Ben in our fantasy golf event during the 151st Open at Royal Liverpool!

Also, this year if you make an extra donation your name will go into a drawing to win a clinic for 6 people with Ben. You will get an entry for the drawing with each $20 donated.

After winnings are distributed all proceeds will benefit the Ben Curtis Family Foundation and our fight to alleviate childhood hunger in northeast Ohio during a time when it is needed most.

Submissions will close on Wednesday, July 19th at 10pm and winners will be announced once play is finished on Sunday, July 23rd.

Let’s talk golf drills! Did you know there is so much to be learned by just taking half swings while practicing? When we’re able to step back and look at our swing from hip height to hip height, it tells a story. We can learn if our tempo is off, if we’re making accurate contact, if we’re taking the club away down the line, etc.

This is one of Ben’s favorite drills because you can get SO much good feedback about your golf swing. The biggest of these is control! Taking back the timing and rhythm of your swing is huge for your game and can be easily analyzed with the half swing drill. A big part of your golf game is feel, so give the half swing drill a try!
