Pinewood School of Dance

Pinewood School of Dance Dance education in many disciplines for all ages. Facilities custom designed and built for dance including two spacious studios with sprung oak floors.

At Pinewood School of Dance, we focus on the development and enrichment of each individual student. Dance instruction is a building process. We believe in laying a firm foundation of basics which can later be expanded and refined. Dance training offers rich rewards to its students including discipline, coordination, improving posture, love of dance, and gaining the self-confidence to perform on-stage. The director works closely with our professional staff in planning and implementing our curriculum.

✨ CALLING ALL DANCERS!

✨ Have you ever dreamed of dancing in a beautiful, full-length production of The Nutcracker? Now is your chance!

✨ Dutchess Dance Theatre is holding OPEN AUDITIONS on Sunday, September 20th, and dancers ages 7–21 are invited to audition!

✨ Whether you dream to dance as an Angel, Mouse, Soldier, Bon Bon, Flower, Snowflake—or even the Sugar Plum Fairy, there is a role waiting for dancers of many ages and training levels.

✨ And it isn't just about the dancing! You'll have the opportunity to be part of a professional-quality production with gorgeous scenery, beautiful costumes, exciting choreography, and performances in front of a live audience.

🎄 Performances: December 5th & 6th�📍 Poughkeepsie High School

✨ EVERY DANCER HAS A PLACE!

✨ Auditions are open to all area dancers, regardless of where they study dance.

✨ Ballet roles:�Dancers ages 7–21 must have a minimum of 2 years of ballet training. (Ages 7 require a minimum of 1 year.)

✨ Adults:�Non-dancing roles are also available for both men and women. You don't have to be a dancer to be part of the magic!

* Ages 7–8: 10:00–11:00 AM
* Ages 9–10: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM
* Ages 11–13: 1:15–2:30 PM*
* Ages 14 & older: 3:00–4:30 PM*
* Adults: 5:00–5:30 PM
Dancers ages 11 and older will audition in ballet shoes first. Those wishing to audition on pointe should remain for the final 30 minutes of their audition.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time.

🎡 Our Pinewood Dance Company was beyond excited to be back performing at the Dutchess County Fair! This year the fair introduced Dance Across Dutchess, an exciting new community dance event that debuted on Saturday, August 29, as part of the Fair’s 180th Anniversary celebration.

🎡 Dance Across Dutchess brought together dance studios from across Dutchess County in a one-of-a-kind celebration of dance, community, and local talent. The Pinewood Dance Company took part in a festive processional through the fairgrounds. They then were a featured performer for all to enjoy.

🎡 The event concluded with a special grand finale where dancers from all participating studios united for one combined performance celebrating the spirit of the Dutchess County Fair.

🎡 Dance Across Dutchess highlighted the creativity, dedication, and diversity of the county’s dance community while providing fairgoers with a unique entertainment experience throughout the fairgrounds.

🎡 As they stated, “We wanted to create something that brings people together,” said event coordinator Luis Perez. “Dance Across Dutchess celebrates not only the incredible talent of our local dance studios but also the spirit of community that makes Dutchess County so special.”

🎡 The Pinewood School of Dance was so excited to be a part of this inaugural event during this historic 180th Anniversary celebration of the fair.

👏 A huge congratulations to two of our very own Pinewood 2026 seniors, Sophia and Peyton. Both talented dancers auditioned for the Sacred Heart pre-professional dance company and both were invited to join this dance company.

👏 Sacred Heart University (SHU) offers the SHU Dance Company, a highly selective, pre-professional track designed for advanced, highly skilled dancers. It provides intensive technical training, performance opportunities, and career-building experiences for students who wish to pursue commercial or concert dance while earning their degree.

👏 We are proud of all our seniors and all their accomplishments. Brava ladies! You make us so proud!

🏆 One of our very own Pinewood dancers, Leilani, was recently named the 2026 Junior Intermediate New York State pageant winner!

🏆 Because of this title, she has qualified for the National competition at Notre Dame. There, she will represent New York state in modeling, interview, strut, and solo events alongside competitors from around the globe.

🏆 Leilani’s family contributes a major part of this milestone to Ms. Gina and Pinewood’s presence in her life. They are extremely thankful for all Ms. Gina and the Pinewood community has done along with all their continued love and support.
