On this Easter morning, I sit and think about the life of MY Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas and then we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Jesus’ life was a process and we need to experience the entire cycle. He had to be born of a virgin and he had to die on a cross and he had to rise again and he will come again! Thank God that he lived on this rotten world so that I might be saved! He was born, he died, he was buried, he rose, and he’s coming again! Praise God that the tomb is empty!
Jesus is Born!
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Jesus has Died!
Mathew 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Jesus is Buried!
Mathew 27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Jesus is Risen!
Mathew 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Jesus will Return!
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Jesus is our only true hope. With him we can have Life Everlasting and for that I’m truly thankful! Praise God, not just, because the Tomb is Empty, but because Jesus is alive and coming once again!
