Can armed teachers make a difference?

ARMING TEACHERS:

The teachers I've spoken to just want to teach, not be the school's quick reaction force in the event of an emergency.

But some teachers already own a firearm, have already been trained and may even already have a CCW. They may also be willing to undergo the extensive additional requirements demanded by their employer, the school district, to carry a firearm at work and willing to do so on their own dime.

Prior to 2018 each school district in California was able to choose for themselves, on a case-by-case basis, which people were allowed to be armed on their campus. That choice was taken away by the State legislature on January 1st 2018, when all schools in California became a gun free zone. There was no incident that prompted this change. Teachers are not legally able to carry a firearm at work in California until the law changes back to how it used to be.

Maybe only a couple of teachers at each school would be willing to go to these extraordinary lengths or maybe none, but the bad guy will never know who or how many are at each school. And isn't this decision better left up to each school district instead of the State legislature?

I have a theory...

Why do so many people hate on police, security and other first responders?

I feel that much of this stems from two things. 1) Police, security & first responders represent the government, authority, "the man", etc. so it brings out peoples rebellious tendencies. 2) The sheepdog looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn’t tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in camouflage fatigues holding an M-16.

What people forget is that any sheepdog who intentionally harms the lowliest citizen will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours. There is nothing morally superior about the sheepdog but he does have one real advantage and only one. He is able to survive and thrive in an environment that destroys 98 percent of the population.

Care for and support your sheepdogs. Whether they are cops, security officers, first responders or family members.

There are many wolves out there doing wrong. Some are even in sheeps clothing. Be careful and watch your surroundings when shopping or coming home. Remember not all sheepdogs (police) are bad and we are here to help. Enjoy life but be safe and have a great day.
