In the first semifinal matchup it was your Tigers who faced off against their Cedar County foe, the El Dorado Bulldogs. It was a back and forth contest that saw four different lead changes. After falling behind 8-9 in the top of the fourth inning Stockton would go on to plate 8 unanswered runs and put away the Bulldogs by a score of 16-9.

SW CONFERENCE CHAMPS!!!

The Stockton Tigers traveled to Miller last night to face the Cardinals in a game that would decide the winner of the Southwest Conference. Stockton came into the contest with a 19-3 record and on a 10 game winning streak, ranked 9th in the stage in Class 3. Miller came in riding an 11 game winning streak and toting a 19-4 record and ranked 6th in the state in Class 2.

The game didn’t disappoint, and it would take all 7 innings to decide the winner. Miller struck first as they scored a run on a passed ball in the first inning. That would be the lone run for either team until the seventh inning. It was in the seventh Stockton was able to draw a one out walk. Then down to their final out, an error by Miller and another walk loaded the bases for the Tigers. JJ Anderson came through with a two-out, two-RBI single up the middle to give the Tigers their first lead of the game. Stockton retired Miller in the bottom half of the seventh and claimed their second consecutive conference championship.

Stockton is hosting the Class 3 District 12 tournament which begins Friday night with a matchup between Skyline and El Dorado Springs. Stockton will then play the winner of this game on Monday at 4:00. Make plans now to come out and cheer on your Tigers on!

This week saw mixed results for the Tigers. On Tuesday they hosted the Pirate of Ash Grove in a SW Conference match up. It was a back and forth game with four different lead changes. Stockton held a 3-2 going into the final frame but Ash Grove rallied for 2 runs and went away with the victory.

Last night the Warsaw Wildcats came to town to face the Tigers in a contest between two Class 3 District 12 teams. But Stockton’s bats got going in the fifth and sixth innings, plating a combined 8 more runs and went onto a convincing 11-4 win.

Stockton is now 10-3 on the season and have a busy schedule next week…
