Cabales Serrada Escrima (Official) Grandmaster Vincent Angel Cabales welcomes you! Classes meet Monday & Wednesday from 7 PM to 9:30 PM Dizon taught Cabales the stick fighting skills.

Founded by Grandmaster Angel Cabales, and the tradition continues through Grandmaster Vincent Cabales. Born in the Philippines in 1917, Grandmaster Angel Cabales moved to the United States in the late part of 1939. He is acknowledged as the Father of Eskrima in the United States. Angel Cabales was the first to open a school (Stockton, CA) that taught the art of Eskrima to both Filipino and non-Fil

ipino students. Cabales met a man named Feliscimo Dizon on the docks of Manila. They trained together on a daily basis with a round kamagong, dagger and empty-hands. Cabales trained hard and became fluent in the many aspects of the system. Through many traveling experiences he made his home in Stockton, CA. In 1966 he decided to teach the Serrada art to the general public. He always enjoyed sharing his many stick-fighting adventures through his rough life in the Philippines and United States. He is greatly missed in the martial art community and will always be remembered as one of the greatest Grandmasters of the Filipino Martial Arts. This lineage was passed down to Angel's son, Grandmaster Vincent Cabales, who continues to teach in Stockton.
