STALLIONS STAND TALL IN DEBUT
The Stockton Stallions made their 2023 debut on Saturday March 18, 2023 against the highly rated Santa Rosa Growlers.
Everyone in the audience saw a very competitive and exciting brand of hockey with an exchange of goals throughout the first period, with the Stallions taking a 2-1 lead into the break.
In the second period, the visiting Growlers scored 2 goals and managed to take the lead 3-2 going into the 2nd intermission.
The third period started with a Growler goal, but was answered with a goal from the Stallions to bring the score to 4-3 Growlers. In the final minutes of play, saw some furious hits and outrageous saves by goaltenders at both ends of the ice.
The Stallions put on a high pressure attack, but unfortunately took a late penalty and were unable to score shorthanded to tie the game. Game result 4-3 for Santa Rosa.
Stallions coaching staff agreed with many long time hockey enthusiasts attending the game that the Stockton Stallions are more than ready to play at the top level in the Men's A division with the Growlers and the Mountain West Hockey League.
