Last but NOT least in any way, is captain Sherry #22!!
This is Sherry’s 2nd season with VCR and she brings ALL the love for cats😻
She started playing ultimate in grad school in Georgia but we are so happy she’s in the Bay Area now to play and lead VCR💚
Fun fact about Sherry: She used to have a pet chicken! 🐔
She also lovesss salt and vinegar chips.
Sherry is a bundle of joy to be around and she says “hanging out with me is 24 grams of protein.”
Catch Sherry drinking water cuz her 5 year plan is to stay hydrated!! 💧🥤

Introducing our next captain, 🤗 Rui #79🤗
This is Rui’s 4th year with VCR, first time being a captain! 🤩
She started playing ultimate in 2017-2018 in grad school, paused during covid, and restarted 2022!!
A fun fact about Rui is that in college, she wanted to grow taller so she played on a women’s basketball team, but she is still 5’ 2” (when rounding 🆙 ).
Another fact is that Rui personally said that she quite likes massaging shoulders, ESPECIALLY tight shoulders. (Everyone go book an appointment with Rui. JK, unless 👀)
Rui is one of the most encouraging 💚 and hard working(on the field and at work🥲) players!

Introducing our first CAPTAIN 🧢
💫RANCH #3 💫
It is her 2nd season with VCR but she has played ultimate for a DECADE now‼️
Not only does she throw frisbees well, but she also does ceramics and throws on the wheel! She also has dislocated her shoulder 3 times🥲 But still plays amazing!!🤩

PS her birth name is not actually Ranch (I know, hard to believe. We still like her tho)

Trans people have always existed and always will. Our statement regarding the USOPC policy change.

The recent policy change from the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee is a brazen attempt to erase trans people not just from sports but from society.

VCR vehemently opposes USOPC’s new policy. We stand with trans athletes and endorse USAU’s current gender inclusion policies. Moreover, we firmly believe that it is up to each player to decide for themselves which division or matchup best corresponds with their gender.

We urge USAU to resist this change and reinforce its Gender Inclusion Policy and its EDI commitment regarding trans athletes.

Community is what makes Ultimate special. USAU has the opportunity to stand up for its trans members and its community at large, and set the standard for inclusivity in sporting institutions in the US and beyond.

As a women’s division team, we welcome and cherish trans players in our sport, and commit to taking any steps necessary to stay aligned with our value of inclusion.
