Tomorrow, Thursday September 10th, T.J.'s in Stockbridge kicks off Ingham County's first APA division! It's not a huge division but it's a start and anything you do in life requires a first try, a first effort, well with APA this is ours. But like anything else, it requires a continued effort to evolve. You can't plant a seed and not water it and expect it to grow, it won't, it still needs attention. We can add players and teams through week 4, so don't sit on your butt doing nothing, get in here and play with us!
This 8 ball division is just the beginning, there's much more to be offered like 9 ball, ladies night (whoo hoo), and Masters. It's not going to be easy, we're sandwiched in between two APA areas that have been around awhile. But I'm not going to compete with them, they're going to compete with me. You see, those areas are peppered with stress, drama and constant pressure to play (spend) more. They can keep it. We want the players who don't want any of that, who want a place they can finally relax at, joke around and just enjoy their evening.
Make no mistake, a pool league is a social event. It's not like social media, this is where you meet real friends, the love of your life or just a playmate for the night. It's a void filler, a void that this "technological" world gave you. For an amateur player, this isn't an occupation, it's an escape. An escape shouldn't be filled with stress and drama, that's what social media and family reunions are for lol. We understand this mentality better than most and it's why we insist on a jovial "fun first" atmosphere.
We want to thank new division rep, and one of our biggest supporters, Stacey West for her efforts in helping this 8 ball division get off the ground, she's a natural! If you're considering playing APA here I can assure you you're in good hands, just make the leap, what have you got to lose? Good friends and good times await you but you gotta be here to get em! This is a great opportunity to put down the device and get out and meet real people in a real unfiltered environment where anything can happen. You like pool? You like to win stuff, like free trips to Vegas? You like to have a good time? Be here this Thursday at 7:00 and get signed up for our new Thursday night APA sanctioned pool league! This is the first time this has ever been offered in Stockbridge, don't miss out.
This league is for 18+, any skill level from brand new to a seasoned player. APA is a handicapped league, meaning you get weight or spotted racks if your opponent is a higher skill level.
You don't need a team, you can bring a friend or come alone, we'll get you on a team and you can make new friends, but you've got to be here this coming Thursday night for sign up. At least come in and meet the league operator, then decide, but come in this Thursday at 7:00.
You don't even need your own stick, we have good equipment for you to use. Our focus has always been fun first, you don't have to be some great player, you just gotta like pool. If you could use some more fun in your life then get your butt in here, we're a good time.

Alright shooters, listen up. If you want to play APA on good equipment with an intimate fun first atmosphere you need to get signed up ASAP. We've got two weeks to get a division going or APA yanks the area from the L.O. The bare minimum is four 3-person teams. We have half of that for Thursday's, we just need 6 more players. If Thursdays doesn't work for you, tell the L.O. what day(s) and format works for you, but you need to get with him and sign up now, not in two weeks.
I know a lot of you aren't happy where you are but play there out of habit. This is an opportunity for some new adventures and help a new area grow. It would be very exciting for us to send a T.J.'s home team to Vegas, but we need some teams. We can get the ball rolling with four 3-person teams. Grab your buddy, phone a friend, text your FWB (we won't tell) and let's get you signed up this week! Contact info in the image attached, just get in contact with him, he'll do the rest.

Technology has made people stupid and lazy. I think if teleportation were possible, people would forget how to walk...and the walk is where the fun is.

Machines that can do our jobs, computers that can do our research and thinking, A.I. that can do all of our communicating and more. All of our little adventures of growth are being replaced, it's really no surprise our intelligence levels are regressing.

I'm a pre-internet baby, way pre-internet. I'm not a big tech person, I believe all of the little adventures we can get in life are very important to our personal growth, identities and happiness. I say this all the time, but excuses gets fn old. This is where misery lives, trust me. Whether it's a new playmate for an hour or two or a slow drive through the countryside on roads you're unfamiliar with, for our own sanity, we need our "you" time. It's not being selfish, it's growth, it's experience, it's learning, it's catering to our curious instinct, it's who you are. Don't let excuses deteriorate you, don't let influence of others deteriorate you. Be your own person.

I don't think you have to be a person of my generation to be a person of your word, to be reliable, or even just to be proactively fun. I tend to live in the past where we tended to responsibilities but still had fun every single day. We weren't slaves to money, politicians or even technology, and I won't be today. We didn't make excuses, we just got off our a$$e$ and did stuff and we didn't give a f*k who thought what about it. And back then, friendships were "ride or die", not disposable like they are today. You're worrying about the meaning of life or your purpose and you ask these questions like the answer already exists...it doesn't. You have to create these things.

My purpose today is different than it was twenty years ago where I've gone from pool hustler to educator. But I still promote fun and adventure on a daily basis because tomorrow is not a guarantee, you gotta live your fun today. That doesn't mean you disregard responsibilities, it simply means you MAKE the time for a little journey too. An hour a day, a half hour a day, get off your a$$, get off social media, put down the device and go give someone a happy ending, go hug a tree, go help a friend with their project, come play pool and shoot the s**t with me, it's what I'm here for, you. Don't let the World beat you, don't let it turn you into something you're not, don't give it that kind of power, be your own person, that's true strength. Don't be in a hurry, enjoy the sensations in the journey,.

Starting September 3rd, 7:00. APA 8 ball league, why aren't you signed up yet?
"I don't like slop." Ok, then start marking your leaves with a napkin because let's be honest, you s**t in more leaves than your opponent does balls so stop using that as an excuse.
"APA is just sandbaggers." Nope, that's factually incorrect. You do not play at the same level every single day, well, neither does your opponent. You play below your level and your opponent plays above theirs (good days bad days) that's why you lost, not because they're bagging.
Your entertainment time should be a fun release. We're not making a living at this, we're not curing cancer or bettering mankind, we're just escaping life's bulls**t for a few hours. You need a place where you can loosen up and joke around and not have to walk on eggshells for somebody, let's be honest, if you can't joke around with someone then they're probably really not your friends. Life's tough, we know as well as anybody, that's why we promote fun the way we do. I take care of our equipment so you don't have to think about it, all ya gotta do is play and enjoy the company. With whatever it means, just have a good time. That's all this is about.
