Q & A with Noel Olsonawski 🏒
Hey guys, I’m Noel Olsonawski, I’m a goalie and I play for the Selkirk Steelers in the MJHL. I was born in Fargo and grew up going to the CPGS camps.
1. What has been the most important thing you have learned from Coach Briere?
I have learned how to break down the game and simplify it with techniques, but also how to battle and be athletic. Not only that but I have also learned the importance of hard work and how it can propel your career. I can look back to countless camps and think of all the little tips and tricks I have learned along the way from Steve.
2. What has been your favorite memory from CPGS camps?
My favorite memory from CPGS is all the connections and relationships I have made. I still keep up with some of the goalies I trained with. Skating with a group for a week you become close with them, it makes the week enjoyable.
3. Why should goaltenders attend CPGS camps?
First off you are skating with an NHL goalie coach who not only knows the game in great detail and teaches the best in the world, but he understands people and knows importance of the mental game better than anyone. Skating with a coach like Steve really shaped my game and has helped me get to where I am today. There is always something you can take away from an elite mind like that.
