The Stillman Valley Holiday tournament today drew a large crowd. Santa even participated in a wrestling match with the Grinch!

🔥 Red Room wrestlers showed up this past weekend! 💪🔥 Hard work, hustle, and heart earned them a HUGE 2nd place finish in Byron as a team. Keep grinding, boys and girls this is just the beginning!

Our next wrestler of the week is Adam bell. Adam is a 5th grader who has been wrestling 5 years. Adam comes from a wrestling family, Both his older brothers wrestled for SVWC, and now wrestle for the high school team. Adam in seasons past was always along for the ride. He was just a kid who had great hair and great taste in music and wrestled on Sundays some days scrapping a victory or two. But this season is different. Adam is coming off a solid football season and set goals going into this season. One of his goals this season was to be a tournament champion. Which he has never done. Well going into Byron this past Sunday Adam had a different attitude and plan. I am pleased to say Adam at the very first tournament of the year has already accomplished his goal and is a tournament champion for the very first time! Adam won all 3 of his match’s. By decision, major decision, and fall! Adam it’s great to see you turn the corner, can’t wait to see what else you accomplish this season and what new goals you set for yourself!

Our very first tournament is in the books! With that being said that also means it’s time for wrestler of the week. Our first wrestler of the week is first year wrestler Beau Baker. Beau comes from a very big wrestling family. His dad Tyler also wrestled for SVWC as a kid and eventually becoming a SVHS Wrestling state champion. Wrestling tends to be a sport passed down for generations. Beau being coached by his dad looked like a complete natural in his very first tournament, going 3-0 on the day winning by decision, decision and finishing the day off with a fall securing the his very first championship and pin at his very first tournament. Beau has been working hard from the very beginning. Staying late after his practice has ended getting extra practice. What a great start to your wrestling career Beau can’t wait to see what you do with the rest of the season!!!
