Today, June 2, 2021, I am stepping aside as the Head Instructor of Steubenville Bando. Taking my place will be the original founder of our school, Sayaji David Decker. The school will return to its former name of, "Steubenville Bando Club".
I would like to thank all of our students and their families, as well as our friends, for their support and contributions over the years! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of your lives and for some of the best memories I'll ever have. For some, this may have been something you were a part of, but for me, it was like growing my family! I will always be grateful for the times we shared together!
Words can not begin to express the deep appreciation that I have for Saya Barry Bell! He has been with me from the start and has proven himself to be a loyal friend! He has supported me every step of the way, and poured that same dedication into all of our students! I truly could not have done it without him! When my work would pull me away for extended periods of time, Barry without hesitation would step up and keep the class going! His commitment to this school and to our friendship has been second to none! He has become like a brother to me and will always be considered family!
Finally I would like to thank my wife, Lynsey Brooks, for years of unwavering support! Running the school has been very time consuming with the constant training sessions, traveling around the country for various Bando functions, and dealing with the logistics it takes to keep a school moving forward. Through it all, my wife has given up ALOT of her time for me to pursue my passion. I will never forget her support and love during this time!
As I said in the beginning, I will be stepping aside, but not stepping out! I will continue to train and help where needed as much as I can. If there is anything any of you may need, please continue to get a hold me!
Thank YOU again and God Bless
- Saya Branden Brooks
