Over 70 years ago, Woodrow and Helen White began popping popcorn at their candy store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, creating a sweet treat that moviegoers at the nearby Paramount Theater quickly fell in love with. That classic recipe eventually made its way to Chadwick, Illinois, where it was hand-stirred in copper pots and became a fan favorite at the Milledgeville High School concession stand.

Today you can find Woody’s Popcorn in over 160 locations across Northern Illinois, Eastern Iowa, and Southern Wisconsin. We’re proudly operated out of Sterling, Illinois, and keeping that rich heritage alive! While we’ve upgraded to automated kettles at our facility in and expanded our menu to include favorites like Cheddar and White Cheddar, our foundation remains the same. We still use that exact same generations-old caramel corn recipe and locally sourced ingredients to craft every batch.
