Fourth-Inning Spurt Lead Sterling Varsity Tigers Past Lookeba-Sickles Varsity Panthers

Sterling Varsity Tigers defeated Lookeba-Sickles Varsity Panthers 9-1 on Thursday thanks in part to eight runs in the fourth inning. Cael Lorentz doubled, scoring three runs, Cooper Milam singled, scoring one run, Braxton Brown induced Thomas Moore to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Christian Hale doubled, scoring one run, and Seth Bradberry grounded out, scoring two runs.
Lookeba-Sickles Varsity Panthers opened the scoring in the fourth after Jose Arellano singled, scoring one run.
Huck Hanza began the game for Sterling Varsity Tigers. The righty allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Arellano started on the mound for Lookeba-Sickles Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs (five earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none.
Sterling Varsity Tigers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Hanza, Moore, and Milam each collected two hits for Sterling Varsity Tigers. Lorentz went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Sterling Varsity Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Hagan Geiger had the most chances in the field with six.
