The Roughnecks went 3-2 & earned 5th place finish in the Michigan Club Freestyle Dual Championships. Great finish with a team made up of 100% RoughneckWC club guys that are part of our freestyle session. No drop ins, no additions, and no seniors!
To highlight the day the team won the 5th place match vs a solid team that they lost to earlier in the morning. Every single person in the line up improved from the previous match up highlighted by
190 Jackson Harris (Rochester Adams) defeated an all state wrestler 11-1 who he lost to 10-0 earlier.
144 Lucas Benson (Eisenhower) avenged getting pinned with a 13-2 technical fall.
132 Luke Kannanien (Armada) turning around an 11-13 loss to an all state opponent into a 10-6 victory.
Exceptional performances from Gavin Houthoofd (lakeview), Nate Bell (de la Salle), Justin Jesse (L’anse cruse north), and Luke Gauthier (Utica) who finished the day undefeated.
