As our Sunset Series is winding down, we wanted to take a moment to thank Great Lakes Yacht Club for letting us use their clubhouse on Wednesday nights.🙏 We'd also like to thank Just Good Chefs for the food service 🍔 and Dragonmead Brewery for the beer! 🍺
It's been a great season and we appreciate the hospitality and everyone that makes it all come together! THANK YOU!!

We had a good breeze for the 23nm Commodore's Cup Long Distance race Saturday. Congrats to all the boats that finished and to our flag winners:

1st place: Phoenix
2nd place: Taku
3rd place: Mylo B

Phoenix will also receive the John & Dorothy McGuire Memorial Trophy - Congrats!

Hats off to all the strong 💪 ladies of LSSC that braved the sporty conditions yesterday to compete for the coveted Marge Rousseau Memorial Petticoat Trophy!

Congrats to the napkin (someone forgot the flags 😆) winners:
1st place: Solo Cup
2nd place: My Way Too
3rd place: Oasis

As the winner, Delaney Tepel will receive the Petticoat Trophy.

Spirit Award goes to Christine crew for the cute custom Petticoat shirts.

Despite a rain shower to kick things off, we had a great turnout for Sunday's Singlehanded Race. Kudos to all 7 skippers for a very competitive race!

As the first place finisher Greg will also receive the Jim Nixon Memorial Trophy.

The first Summer Sunset Series race is tomorrow night Aug. 5th! Racers - take note - an Amendment to the Sailing Instructions has been posted. Two new Long Courses are being added to keep things interesting. You can read or download the Amendment here:

LSSC's popular Wednesday night Spring and Summer Sunset Series Races are open to all area sailors. These two competitive six-race series regularly attract a large number of the areas avid racing skippers.

It was a little blustery yesterday for our Sunday club race, or “blowin’ stink” as reported by race committee. 😆💨Nonetheless, we had a few hearty sailors head out to race.
