Trey Taylor is Vice President and a founding partner of DPT Physical Therapy & Performance. Born and raised in Stephenville, graduated from Stephenville High School in 2008. He stayed local to attend Tarleton State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2012. Has attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center where he earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy

degree in 2015. Over the course of his physical therapy education, Trey trained under board certified orthopedic clinical specialists Drs. Darin Deaton and Tina Neuwirth, as well as board certified neurologic clinical specialist Dr. Linda Csiza. During that time, he gained valuable experience in general outpatient orthopedics, pain management, post-surgical rehab, as well as neurologic/stroke, and vestibular rehabilitation. Trey is certified in dry needling through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy Dry Needling Institute and is currently pursuing a specialty in clinical orthopedics. Trey chose physical therapy because of his passion for working with and helping people. Everyone has a story to tell and through which there is much to learn. He most values the patient-therapist relationship, and prides himself in providing high quality, compassionate care. Physical therapy and rehabilitation are not centered around the physical impairment, but rather the person, their experiences and livelihood. The art of physical therapy is truly getting to know each person and their individual circumstances in order to create a personalized treatment plan to help them achieve their specific goals. Trey commits to not only listening, but truly hearing your story and working alongside you to obtain your highest functional capabilities. Trey’s professional interests include sports rehab, orthopedic manual therapy, dry needling, pain management, vestibular and balance therapy including vertigo treatments, as well as strength and conditioning. He is blessed to share life with his wife, Shelby Taylor, and their three kids Dru, Peyton and Jase.

πŸ’ͺ Shoulder pain isn't always a shoulder problem.

That might sound strange, but one of the most important parts of healthy shoulder movement is actually your shoulder blade. Every time you reach overhead, lift groceries, throw a ball, or grab something from a cabinet, your shoulder blade and shoulder joint work together. When that teamwork gets disrupted, you may notice pain, weakness, stiffness, or even clicking and popping during movement. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

In some cases, the shoulder blade may even begin to move abnormally or stick out from the back, a condition known as scapular winging. The good news? Many shoulder blade movement issues can improve with physical therapy. By addressing strength, mobility, posture, and movement patterns, PT can help restore proper function and reduce strain on the shoulder. πŸ‹οΈ

If shoulder pain has been limiting your daily activities, the source of the problem may be more complex than you think. Finding the root cause is the first step toward lasting relief and getting you back to life. πŸ’™

We are incredibly thankful for the support already coming in for Mineral Wells. πŸ’™ Seeing our communities come together in times like this is a reminder of how much compassion and generosity exists right here at home.

Thank you to everyone who has donated food and bottled water so far. Your kindness is making a difference for families impacted by the tornado. We are still accepting donations at all DPT clinic locations for anyone who would like to help support the relief efforts.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our community. πŸ’™

Meet Dakota Villemonte! πŸ‘‹

We are excited to welcome Dakota to our Mineral Wells team as our newest Front Office Coordinator! With previous experience working in a physical therapy clinic, Dakota brings valuable knowledge of the PT world and understands the important role compassionate care plays in helping patients feel supported throughout their recovery journey. Her friendly personality and desire to help others make her a wonderful addition to the DPT family.

Originally from Florida, Dakota has called Mineral Wells home for the past nine years and has become deeply rooted in the community. She is currently attending Weatherford College, where she is pursuing a degree in Software Engineering. Her dedication, determination, and willingness to learn shine through in everything she does, both in the classroom and at DPT.

When she's not working or studying, Dakota enjoys spending her time crocheting, sewing, and coloring. She is also the proud owner of a bearded dragon named Delta 🦎, who keeps life fun and interesting. Above all else, Dakota values family and cherishes every opportunity to spend time with her loved ones.

We are thrilled to have Dakota on our team and can't wait for our patients and community to get to know her. Please join us in giving her a warm DPT welcome! πŸŽ‰

Physical therapy is about more than exercises and treatment plans. It's about people. πŸ’™

Every patient who walks through our doors has a unique story, a unique challenge, and a unique goal. Some are hoping to get back to work. Others want to return to their favorite activities, keep up with their kids or grandkids, or simply move through life with less pain. πŸ‘£

No matter where someone is in their journey, our goal is the same: to make sure they feel heard, supported, and cared for every step of the way. We celebrate the victories, work through the setbacks, and stay committed to helping our patients achieve the goals that matter most to them.

Helping people move better is what we do. Helping people live better is why we do it. That's what "Getting You Back to Life" means to us. πŸ’ͺ

Shoulder pain is one thing. Losing your ability to move your shoulder is another πŸ’™

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, happens when the tissue surrounding the shoulder joint becomes thick, stiff, and inflamed. As the shoulder becomes more painful, many people naturally move it less πŸ‘£ Unfortunately, less movement can lead to even more stiffness and loss of motion.

Frozen shoulder typically progresses through three stages:
❄️ Freezing: Pain increases and shoulder movement becomes more limited.
🧊 Frozen: Pain may improve, but stiffness remains.
🌱 Thawing: Motion gradually returns and recovery begins.

The condition can develop after an injury, surgery, or any period where the shoulder isn't moving as much as normal. πŸ‹οΈ The good news is that with the right treatment plan, including physical therapy πŸ’ͺ, most people can regain their shoulder mobility and get back to doing the activities they enjoy! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ If you're experiencing persistent shoulder pain or stiffness, contact our team to see how physical therapy can help you move better and feel better.
