Well back from our annual memorial Day weekend trip we're on the first fork of the Sinnamahoning but they were discharging water from the dam so it was running high and tough to fish but we did manage some fishing but we had a great time anyways and my good friend John we hooked up with his cousin who guided for elk for many years and lives in the area. We all enjoyed listening to his stories about elk hunting, and he took the boys out to see some elk, no pictures. He also showed us some great places to fish that most people kind of overlook and for future reference for us. It's definitely an area I want to go back to and fish again.

On the way home from Smith Mountain Lake I had the opportunity to stop at Murray's fly shop and meet a living legend, Harry Murray who created the Murray Ant, I was around 11 or 12 when I saw the story of the Murray Ant in Fly Tyer mag. It opened my eyes and I started exploring new ways to tie terrestrials. He did give me a piece of information about Mossy Creek he says it's not any good anymore if you want to come down and fish in that area your best bet is to go into the Shenandoah national Park. He also signed his book for me.

Down at Smith mountain Lake for a week, went out for stripers, had a lot of fish around the boat they just weren't feeding but we managed to get a few even my wife caught one and she's not that much of a fisherman in fact this is the only second time she's ever gone out.

Sorry to be able to report nothing unfortunately something came up and I had to leave and head home this morning so I didn't get a chance to fish, maybe next time. Will be heading down to Smith mountain lake going for stripers.

Got out at fisherman's Paradise today but it was just too warm I ran into a guy who was just finishing up and he was picking them up on a pink Midge all I could do was get them to chase a woolly bu**er a little bit but that didn't last long. Just a little too warm I might try tomorrow morning early and see how I do. water temperatures were cool but they had a lot of rain up here last night too and the stream was discolored. Just a note there was nobody else fishing at fisherman's Paradise or Brenner springs in the canyon. I stopped there just to take a look and I didn't fish. Going to hit that tomorrow morning.

With the warm temperatures we decided to start hitting some more smallmouth bass fishing and leave the trout alone had a good night on the the other night lots of smallmouth bass no big ones but still some good fishing no pictures because we just came from the pool and everything was packed in the truck.
