Paddling this weekend?
Here are a couple of tips to travel with your boards safe strapped to the car rack.

* Tip #1: don’t throw the metal end of the cam-stap across the boards unless you want to damage the car or break a window. Throw the nylon end. Slide under the cross bar, and toss back to the metal side.

* Tip #2: make sure there is at least one twist on each side of the strap. Why? Because a twist reduces that annoying vibration you hear at highway speeds without the twist. The sound is distracting, and you can cause wear marks in the board.

Tip #3: clean the ends of the stapes to prevent the straps from loosening during the drive or flapping in the wind. Simply wrapping the ends around the straps is good enough. If the ends are long, wrap them into a daisy chain.

Bonus tip: put a small stick in the StompBox to prevent the fin from scratching the car.

When installing your Hala StompBox….

* pump the board to about 1psi, just enough to give the board shape.

* brush out any dirt or debris.

* insert the fin box into the board.

* LOCK the fin box into place by pulling towards the tail of the board.

* Smooth any folds in the silicon housing.

* Continue pumping

* Go paddle with the confidence of a retractable fin system. Hala!
