We been working hard over here for the last 6 weeks. This cutie 🥰 has mastered his self rescue skills. Here we see him maintaining his air, finding it after a roll, maneuvering his body underwater to come to the surface face up!

2 inches can be the difference in an aquatic emergency!

⚠️ Water Safety Alert: Child drowning deaths are rising in the U.S. after years of decline. Drowning is the #1 cause of death for kids ages 1-4.

"When drowning occurs, seconds matter," warns a pediatric expert.

Parents: Are you taking the right precautions? 👇

It’s incredibly sad the amount of drownings that are occurring! If everyone is watching, no one is watching.

UPDATE: Authorities have released new details after a child drowned Saturday evening at the pool of the Cortland Wortham Apartments in northwest Harris County.

Investigators now say the victim was 5 years old, correcting an earlier report that identified the child as 4 years old.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the child was found underwater around 7 p.m. while approximately 30 people were in and around the pool. A pool patron spotted the child, alerted others, and bystanders pulled the child from the water before first responders arrived. CPR was already in progress when deputies reached the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, the child was pronounced deceased.

Authorities said the child’s mother and aunt were at another area of the pool at the time. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance video, and working to determine how long the child was submerged. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office will review the investigation to determine whether any criminal charges are appropriate.

The child’s identity has not yet been released.

Our thoughts remain with the child’s family, loved ones, and the first responders who responded to this heartbreaking tragedy.
