🔥 Why I Use KPV 🔥

One peptide that doesn’t get nearly enough attention is KPV.

I’ve personally used it before bed and sometimes after hard training sessions because recovery isn’t just about muscles…

It’s also about controlling inflammation.

That’s what makes KPV so interesting.

Many athletes spend all their time focusing on:
✅ training harder
✅ lifting heavier
✅ pushing more volume

But they completely ignore what happens AFTER training.

The body only gets stronger if it can recover.

For me, KPV has been one of the tools I’ve used as part of my recovery strategy, especially during periods of hard training and competition prep.

Many people are interested in KPV because of its potential role in supporting:

✅ Healthy inflammatory responses
✅ Gut health and digestive function
✅ Recovery and overall wellness
✅ Training longevity

And here’s something most people don’t think about…

If your gut isn’t functioning well and your inflammation is elevated, it’s much harder to recover, perform, and feel your best.

At 47 years old, I’ve learned that success isn’t about training harder than everyone else.

It’s about recovering better than everyone else.

The goal isn’t just getting stronger today.

The goal is staying strong for years.

Train hard.
Recover intelligently.
Optimize from the inside out.

💥 Bend Over and Fix Your Weak Links. 💥

Today’s focus was simple: build strength where it matters.

We worked up to 585 lbs for 3 reps on beltless deadlifts after a solid warm-up that included 495 lbs for a beltless, double-overhand double. That’s a big win because it tells me my grip strength is improving, my core is getting stronger, and my ability to create tension without relying on equipment continues to improve.

Could I have pushed harder?

Probably.

Did I need to?

Absolutely not.

One of the biggest mistakes lifters make is turning every training session into a max-out session. Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is leave a little in the tank, keep performance high, and reduce injury risk so you can continue stacking quality weeks of training.

For assistance work, we focused on bent-over rows for higher reps, emphasizing body position and control. The goal wasn’t just moving the weight—it was owning the position.

Remember, every muscle produces three types of contractions:

✅ Concentric (lifting)
✅ Eccentric (lowering)
✅ Isometric (holding)

Most people focus on the lifting portion and completely neglect the hold.

That’s a mistake.

If you get stronger holding position, you’ll be stronger maintaining position when the weight gets heavy. In the deadlift, that means a stronger lockout, a more stable torso, and less energy leaking throughout the lift.

The bent-over row is one of my favorite movements because it builds the upper back, reinforces posture, strengthens the lats, and carries over directly to both the deadlift and squat.

The lesson?

Stop chasing shortcuts.

Find your weak links.
Attack them relentlessly.
Get stronger where you’re weakest.

That’s how big lifts are built.

💪 A real coach doesn’t just count reps…

A real coach sees what you’re capable of before YOU fully believe it yourself.

Sometimes people walk into the gym unsure, insecure, frustrated, overweight, weak, tired, or mentally defeated…
and over time something changes.

Not just physically.
Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually.

Confidence starts building.
Strength starts building.
Discipline starts building.

That’s the part I love most about coaching.

Watching someone realize:
👉 “I’m capable of more than I thought.”

And honestly…
nothing makes me prouder than seeing people keep showing up, even on the hard days.

Every rep matters.
Every workout matters.
Every decision matters.

Keep building.
I’ve got your back. 👊

😎 The funny thing about discipline is…

The people who get the most uncomfortable around it are usually the people avoiding it.

Your presence alone starts bothering certain people when:
✅ you stay consistent
✅ you stop making excuses
✅ you train with purpose
✅ you build confidence
✅ you stop needing approval

You don’t even have to say anything.

Your work ethic speaks for you.

And the reality is…
Most people aren’t upset because you’re doing bad.
They’re upset because your discipline reminds them of what they’re NOT doing.

Keep showing up.
Keep building.
Keep growing.

The right people will be inspired.
The wrong people will be triggered.

Either way…
you’re doing something right. 💯

🏆 AGE IS JUST A NUMBER… BUT HEART, DISCIPLINE, AND EXPERIENCE ARE EVERYTHING. 🏆

June 6th at RPS Powerlifting Nationals, two masters lifters step onto the platform with completely different builds, different leverages, and different styles… but the same goal:

💥 Leave everything on the platform.

On one side you’ve got the reigning Masters National Champion, Billy Turano — pound-for-pound one of the strongest and toughest competitors in the field.

On the other side, Coach Gary chasing another huge total and looking to bring years of experience, power, and preparation together on meet day.

This is what powerlifting is really about:
🔥 discipline
🔥 sacrifice
🔥 overcoming injuries
🔥 overcoming doubt
🔥 learning how to suffer with purpose

The crazy part?

Most people only see the attempts on meet day…
They don’t see:
➡️ the early mornings
➡️ the missed events
➡️ the fatigue
➡️ the recovery work
➡️ the mental battles
➡️ the years it takes to build real strength

Respect to every athlete stepping on that platform. Especially the masters lifters still pushing limits while most people their age are slowing down.

Now the question is…

👀 Who takes the crown June 6th?

Let’s clear something up… 👇

People hear “not FDA approved” and automatically assume something doesn’t work.

Meanwhile many of the things people use every single day aren’t FDA approved either:
➡️ Creatine
➡️ Fish oil
➡️ Melatonin
➡️ Electrolytes
➡️ Most supplements and vitamins

FDA status and effectiveness are NOT the same conversation.

The real question should always be:
🧠 Is it being used responsibly?
🧠 Is there research behind it?
🧠 Is there education, structure, and proper guidance?

The fitness industry is full of emotional opinions instead of honest conversations.

At the end of the day:
❌ no supplement replaces discipline
❌ no peptide replaces training
❌ no shortcut replaces consistency

But optimizing recovery, health, performance, and body composition the SMART way absolutely matters.

The biggest transformation in this photo didn’t come from one thing…

It came from:
🔥 training consistently
🔥 improving recovery
🔥 dialing in nutrition
🔥 reducing inflammation
🔥 staying disciplined long enough to see the results

Results happen when strategy meets consistency. 💪

Today was the final lift of this entire meet prep. 🏆

The work is done.

No more building.
No more testing.
No more chasing numbers in the gym.

Now it’s about:
🧠 recovery
🧠 visualization
🧠 bodyweight management
🧠 arriving ready to perform on command June 6th.

Today’s final deadlift session was exactly what it needed to be:
✅ short
✅ efficient
✅ low fatigue
✅ confidence-building

Worked up to a smooth 605 lb single after easy positional work and shut it down right there.

That’s maturity as a lifter.

A lot of people think peaking means doing MORE…
But the truth is, great meet prep is about doing LESS at the right time so your strength can finally show itself. 🔥

Right now I can feel the rebound building.
The body is recovering.
The nervous system is stabilizing.
The confidence is growing.

And honestly… that’s one of the best feelings in powerlifting.

Now the focus shifts to visualization and ex*****on.

See the lift.
Feel the lift.
Believe in the lift.
Then go perform it. 💪

June 6th. Game time.
