As the summer concludes, we want to recognize some of our members on the team for receiving and completing their internships.

We’re proud to see our players representing Penn State Men’s Club Lacrosse at companies in finance, engineering, construction, media, real estate, government, and much more. The hard work on the field clearly translates into the classroom and in the real world.

Congratulations to everyone on their success and are excited to see what lies ahead for everyone!

We would like to thank another one of our seniors for his time on the team, Ryan Ortiz. Ortiz was a do-it-all kind of guy who might have the most impressive resumé out of any college student. Here are a few words from Ryan himself…

“Penn State club lax was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. During my first two years, I met so many people and created unforgettable memories on and off the field. As time went on, my plans changed and I joined the cheer team. That group of guys from clax embraced the change and supported me throughout the entire journey.

Looking back, I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world. I gained lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and experiences that helped shape who I am today.

Now, I’m excited for my next chapter at The University of Alabama, where I’ll continue pursuing my passion and chasing bigger goals — including making Team USA and competing in partner stunt and winning gold with bama. Roll Tide 🐘”

Ryan will now be reclassifying at Bama (a freshman again uh-oh) as he continues his D1 journey. Keep making the club lacrosse family proud and we know you will continue to do great things!

Penn State Club Lacrosse would like to thank another one of his seniors for his 3.5 years of dedication towards the team, Jack O’Brien. We are so fortunate enough that he left the d3 pipeline and advanced his talents to D1 club.

Jack, who was known by various amount of nicknames, including JOB, OB1, and Sharkies assassin, was a sneaky athletic player who always found himself finishing around the crease. If he ever needed extra motivation to score that trick, he knew what he had to hear from Caden and Mike.

Jack studied telecommunications and has interned for Penn State athletics as he is a very talented videographer. JOB has started his own media company and is focusing on developing brands to increase their revenue. We are proud to have him on our team and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Penn State Club Lacrosse would like to thank one of our graduated seniors Dan Ferrer for his dedication to our team the past 4 years. Dan’s style of play was very similar to Bryan Hawkins, which is why he was known as Weapon X by his teammates. “Weappy” took his talents to the next level this year and was one of few players to travel every weekend.

Dan is a perfect example of showing up, putting in the work, and making the timely play when needed. If not for his two clutch back-too-back plays vs. West Chester in the playoffs, we would not have won that game in overtime.

Dan Ferrer graduated this past spring as an Econ major and is now working as a sales and operations specialist. Congratulations Dan on your success. You (and the Gold Amex card) will be deeply missed and we wish you the best moving forward!

Penn State Clax would now like to thank another one of our seniors for his 4 years with the program. Ryan “Cola” Colatriano was sneaky athletic guy on the field and his low to low quick stick always had the same result - the ball in the back of the net. Some compared it to Kareem’s sky hook as it was unstoppable.
While his cousin is coaching at Dartmouth, he decided to go to the real Ivy League school of PSU and play real men’s lacrosse (club on top).

Throughout his time here at Penn state, his favorite memories were playing alongside his friends and standing at THON.

Ryan graduated this spring with a degree in marketing and will go down the lacrosse finance (marketing will count) segueway pipeline. A glue guy who always showed up and always able to rally the guys.

We wish you the best in your future career!

Penn State Club Lacrosse would like to thank Tyler Chadwick’s service and dedication to our program. Tyler, more commonly known as “Cheddy” by his teammates, was a 4 year player who served as our Vice President his junior year and was our president this year. The nonchalant king was also well known for his jokes and generosity while being out on away trips.

Tyler outside of lacrosse was also one of our THON chairs and danced 46 consecutive hours for pediatric cancer. Tyler graduated this spring with a Degree in Political Science and has already been working on Capitol Hill.

We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

With the season concluded, we’d like to give a shoutout to one of our favorite players on the team Connor Thornton (Unc). At the young age of 25, he decided to lace the cleats up one more time all while completing his Juris Doctor degree this past season. After completing his Bachelor’s at Ithaca, and his JD here at Penn State, he will be taking his talents to Santa Fe, New Mexico. As a lawyer, we saw the exceptional skills he possessed to convince players to go out and have a great time these past two weeks. Serving as a Plaintiff’s lawyer (soon to be attorney), we know who to ring if there’s any trouble. We look forward to seeing your success in the future!
