April 18, 2026: Improve your casting skills with Orvis casting guru, Pete Kutzer here at Cross Current Outfitters. 10:00 AM to noon, Pete will be giving a casting demo for both one handed casting and two handed spey casting, applicable to both trout Spey casting and salmon/steelhead fishing. Immediately following a brief break, Pete will be giving more detailed and personalized group casting lessons, for either one handed casting, and/or two handed casting. Pete Kutzer has been a fly fishing and casting instructor at the Orvis Fly Fishing School since 2002. His many instructional videos have been featured on the Orvis Learning Center and other venues. We have a week of summer coming before we go back to spring. This will start the early season mayfly hatches of baetis, blue quills, Quill Gordon’s, and Hendricksons to join the already early stoneflies and chimara caddis that have been hatching in water too cold to get the fish really all to excited. It’s a new game now.
