SOCSD is working closely with the City of Starkville, MS, Mayor Lynn Spruill and community leaders to finalize plans for a Championship parade and celebration honoring the Jacket Girls and Boys Basketball teams for winning the 2026 7A State Championships. Although we had originally planned for the City to host a parade on March 19, we have received information that some of our players and their families may not be able to attend on that date. Because of the scheduling conflicts, we have asked the City to postpone the event to ensure that all of our Jacket players can participate as we honor them.
We appreciate Mayor Lynn Spruill and City of Starkville leaders for their commitment to support our district and Yellow Jacket student athletes on and off the court. We are grateful and honored they are working with us to create such a fitting community celebration for these historic championships.
Stay tuned for more details as a date and plans for the parade and celebration are finalized. We look forward to honoring the Jackets together.
