If you look up "trauma recovery" online, you’ll find a lot of people bashing life coaches. They argue that coaches aren't licensed therapists and don't know what they're doing.

To be completely honest? I agree with some of it.

I am a Life Coach, and I am not a therapist. I don’t dig into childhood roots—that is a therapist's sacred ground, and I champion that work. But when it time comes to build a bridge toward the future, that is where coaching steps in.

After 20 years as a paramedic, I understand trauma from the inside out. I also know it as a person living with chronic PTSD. My journey had dark chapters, but every single step taught me how to regulate my nervous system and step out of panic. It allowed me to show up for people on the worst days of their lives, and it taught me how to show up for myself.

You don't have to navigate this transition alone. My 12-week program is built around a 3-Phase Predictable Path Out of the Dark. You aren’t broken; you are simply waiting to integrate who you were with who you are now.

👇 Next Steps:
If you want to explore this privately, my DMs are always open. If you aren't ready for that step, just stick around this page. In my next post, we’re going to look at the biology of feeling stuck: the difference between a healthy and a dysregulated nervous system.

After 20+ years as a paramedic, I know what it feels like to hold it together on shift and fall apart at home.

I built Responder Roots because I wished something like this existed when I needed it most.

This isn't therapy. It's the daily work — the small, consistent habits that actually move the needle over time.

If you're a first responder who's struggling, this was made for you. 👉

Our first responders carry more than the weight of the job — they carry the weight of what they’ve seen, what they couldn’t prevent, and what they can’t forget.
The numbers are hard to read, but they matter:
🔹 Su***de risk is significantly higher among first responders than in the general population.
🔹 Up to 30% develop PTSD, compared to 6% of civilians.
🔹 Depression, anxiety, and burnout are widespread, often silently endured.
🔹 Substance use becomes a coping tool for many who feel they have nowhere safe to turn.
🔹 And the impact doesn’t stop at the station — it affects marriages, families, health, and careers.
Behind every uniform is a human being who has witnessed more trauma in a year than many see in a lifetime.

This is why conversations about mental health in our responder community are not optional — they’re lifesaving.

If you’re a responder:
You are not weak. You are not alone. Your story matters, and your healing matters.

If you love a responder:
Your support, patience, and understanding make a difference you may never fully see.
Let’s break the silence.
Let’s break the stigma.
Let’s take care of the people who take care of everyone else.
