We tried to get another points race in, mother nature has not been kind to us this year. Started off Friday with some much needed testing to be sharp on the final push for the points series. Everything went well and we were ready for Saturday points.

Both Evan and Tracy won 1st and 2nd rounds when the truck was running. Then they both lost 3rd rd when the truck said no ah ah. Turns out cyl 4 and 6 wanted to have their own party and passed some flame fronts back and forth between the cylinders.

With a broken truck and both Evan and Tracy in the points, our awesome race track family jumped in! Justin Wanamaker offered up their Cavalier for Tracy and Roy Parish offered up his Olds for Evan. It's awesome to have friends that will offer up rides to allow our team to have a chance the following day. Not many people would be willing to do that especially for a 19 yr old.

The track staff was gracious enough to let both Evan and Tracy have a crack at the tree in the new to us rides in between the rounds of the main race when there was time.

Evan got to make his quickest run ever in Roy's Olds, 5.79 @ 118. Sunday was cancelled due to rain, Evan was a little bummed he didn't get to make more laps in the Olds.

We did have some luck though, only the cylinder head is damaged and the block is fine.

Things are in process to get the truck running for next weekend. Praying everything falls in line so we can finish with our tried and true truck where things are very familiar.

Weekend recap from the 50grander. The plan was the same as last year, Tracy to drive Thursday and Friday as Evan is in school already. Then Evan to drive the 50 Saturday and Sundays 5k.

Thursday Tracy takes the no box entry to the 2nd rd and let go red for the loss. In the box class he manages a 5th rd exit, not too bad off the bottom.

Friday was the 50grander as Saturday was a complete wash out (good call by the track). Tracy had the same 2nd rd exit in the no box 32, but did manage to be #1 on the ladder sheet after 1st rd with a 001 light. This ladder setting rd was absolutley ridiculous! In a 16 car field, #9 qualifier was 010! 2nd rd Tracy had a plan, but his brain forgot to tell his feet the plan and they did something different. The brain's plan would've turned on the win light, crap. In the box side, same result a 2nd rd exit. Not a horrible run, just not good enough for that crowd.

Fast forward to Sunday, Evan is driving without any time runs. No box 32 is first up and essentially no buybacks (at least in the no box side). Obviously we know the track and know the setup for him there. Boy wonder is 001 green (to be #1 on the ladder next rd) behind his opponents red light. Great...run it out and we'll see what it will run. Well...the truck said na...and didnt shift into high gear so we still don't have a good baseline for the day. Evan then had to switch thought processes to make sure he watches the shift and be at the ready in case it happens again (it did not though). Evan backs up the 001 with a 004 in box. Then goes 001 in no box 2nd rd. Then 008 in box. He was on a mission! Had both entries going into 3rd rd and feeling good. Let's go 3rd rd of no box and all the teeth on the pinion decided to let go. Obviously couldn't fix that before the box rd.

At least we had planned on taking next weekend off, now we have a little bit of time to get this fixed correctly before the next points race at 131.

Bottom bulb bash recap.

Friday started with Tracy running both entries as Evan had class. After dropping the first 3, to say his confidence was lacking would be an understatement. Regrouped, focused on making good runs rather than the win light and was able to put together a few win lights before getting smoked 3rd rd. Tracy's 009 light was already behind to a 001 dead 4 lap.

Saturday Evan is first out (without a time run) and let's go 005 , takes 011 for the win. 2nd rd let's go 002 red to end his day. Tracy made mediocre runs at best making it to the 3rd rd again, but can't get it done. They had an impromptu 32 car shootout before the golf cart race and since we didn't have to buy back today, we put Evan in. He did well 1st and 2nd rounds with some awesome runs, but let go early once again 3rd rd for the loss.

Sunday both Evan and Tracy turn on win lights 1st and 2nd round each. Tracy still couldn't get past 3rd rd with a slightly tardy reaction time despite matching the dial in. Evan was able to advance to the 4th, where he met the blood bath that greeted Tracy to start the weekend Friday. Evan is 006 up front, opponent is 001. He hits the drop spot to be 01 over and 005 behind. His drop was correct, but truck lost a number at 330 ft. See pic. At least it was good enough for some round money (first return of the weekend).

Nothing to report with the golf cart race. Lost 1st on a close one, won the re-entry rd, lost 2nd.

Short week filled with maintenance and then head to Mid for the 50grander.

Wish us luck!

And the blood bath begins, day 1. 009 up front and locked out.

This weekend we headed to Mid Michgan Motorplex for the Money Maker race.

After our race a few weekends ago, we changed converters as the one in it had broke. We are glad to report, the truck is running great again.

Evan was able to make it from class in time to make 1 time run Friday. He carried that entry all the way to the semis where he turned it red by 007. Good day! Tracy only managed a 3rd rd exit. Saturday, Tracy is out after 2nd rd, Evan has another good day losing in the ladder round by another red light. Sunday, both Tracy and Evan had 4th rd exits. Tracy was 025 up front to a 013 and couldn't pull off any magic. Evan was once again red, this time by 004.

As shared yesterday, the ladder round on Saturday was stupid good. 7 drivers, worst light was 012. Evan's 008 didn't even get him lane choice! Wow, its tough out there.

Next weekend, 131 for the Bottom Bulb bash.

No box, how hard can it be? Better bring your A game around here!

How about these reactions to get placed on the ladder for $5000 no box.

Had a good time at the inaugural Michigrander put on by Staging Light (Michael Beard). It was all Evan this weekend, doubled, one in no box and one in with the cheater boxes (lol). There were a lot of good racers here and just like any other no box section of a big dollar event it was like an all-star race within a race. Evan raced some of the best, won some, lost some. It seemed like almost every round was 00x at the stripe, sometimes in front and sometimes behind. All good experiences. He was able to put enough win lights together to secure a runner up finish in the no box portion on Saturday. That paid enough to cover the entries, not bad at all. Time for a little maintenance before the next one. The pic was from the time slip that we posted Thursday where Evan was 006 up front and dead 7 to be behind 001 at the finish.

So, this is how the entire weekend is gonna go huh! Its just a time run, but for goodness sake. No boxers are for real...
