LONG POST WARNING:
.. but thats what happens when you dont post for a while
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that bought baits from us this year and gave us a shot. As of right now, we are sold out of Hellgrammites, Crush Craws, Tracers and Novas except whats on our Etsy store. Im hoping to have our more popular baits and some new designs/ color combinations posted by the end of the week!
Next, I want to talk about how great the bite is RIGHT NOW in Northeast Nebraska. Bluegills and Largemouth Bass arent on their beds yet, but it should be almost any day now. Crappies are in full spawn with the males showing off their spawn colors and moved into the shallows. Walleyes have really picked up in the last week or so and are hitting everything. Finding transitioning spots from deep water to 5-7 foot have been holding a lot of walleye in the evening. Channel cats are also spawning and have moved into the shallows.
The ICON Nova has continued to be the best all around bait in my eyes and will literally catch you anything on any given day. Paired with a 1/16 - 1/32 ounce jig, the Nova will entice everything from bluegills to walleyes and everything in between.
The ICON Hellgrammite gives the fish a slightly larger and more natural look that I like to use with a 1/10- 1/16 ounce ned head. Crappies and all bass species love this bait but just about everything will try to eat it.
The ICON President is one of our newer baits that is already a certified hog slayer. Bass have found it irresistible and the walleye really like the action. I'd recommend rigging with a 1/10 ounce jig.
The ICON Leech is another new bait thats becoming a must have and great for when conditions arent perfect. I really like using it with a 1/10 ounce ned head but can also be used on a drop shot rig. We even offer a leech scent to those that are interested.
The ICON Tracer is the final bait im going to highlight today on its recent success and is probably the most popular bait that we offer. If I was were to go bass fishing with only 1 bait, this would be my choice and I wouldn't even have to think about it. Whether its largemouth, smallmouth, white, or wipers, bass can not pass on this bait. The Tracer is just as versatile as the Nova but will attract larger species such as Walleye and Pike.
