Coach Crowe here. This will be my last post on this page as I have officially resigned as the head boys basketball coach at Powell Co. Middle School. Words can not begin to express the joy and fun I have had coaching all of the kids I have been blessed to Coach over the years. It has been a ride full of memories that will last a lifetime!
Tonight we got to celebrate our 8th graders with a great dinner and ceremony to recognize them for all of their accomplishments over an incredible 3 years. We got to present them with their championship rings, championship trophy and banner that will go up in the gym.
As a coaching staff we have a lot of people to thank for all of their support. We want to thank our administrators for all they have done for us. We thank all of the fans that came to each game and filled the gym each night. We want to thank our awesome parents for all of their support, sacrifice, and willingness to jump in and help without being asked. You guys have raised some awesome young men and have helped build the family culture that we have. We want to thank all of our players for buying into the system, for their hard work, for wanting to be pushed, for meeting the high demand and expectations put before them, for always wanting to not only be better basketball players, but better people.
Last we want to thank our community and businesses (Stanton DQ, Papa John’s, Little Ceasar’s, CG Bank, Elite Shotguns, Ace Hardware, Hearne Funeral Home, KY Farm Bureau, The Stanton Gym, Rogers Hardware, GAS Bowstrings, Jett Mechanical, Ray Rogers Insurance, Kayla Skidmore/Little Learners Daycare, Treasa Sparks/Thyme Savor) for all of the backing and support throughout the years. In a small community it can be tough on the small businesses to always be giving, but their willingness to step up for the kids does not go unnoticed.
