🏁 ESTEVAN DIRT WARS DOUBLE HEADER 🏁

Another damn good weekend doing what we love with people we love doing it with.

Both cars ran great and both boys battled hard all weekend.

Brennor continues to make some pretty huge gains in the new-to-us 4X machine, and he’s figured that car out awfully quick. We definitely can’t take all the credit for that. We’ve got some pretty great friends and mentors in our corner who share their knowledge, answer the dumb questions 😂 and help us keep moving forward. That kind of support means more than people probably realize.

And then there’s Tyson… apparently sleep and reasonable travel plans are optional when there’s racing involved. 😂

The kid made a 5-hour trip one way to race, drove all the way back for work, then turned around and came back to race again Saturday. That’s a pile of windshield time just to strap back into the 82T.

His determination to race is something else. He continues to put together some awesome runs, keeps digging every single week and just flat-out loves doing this. Pretty damn proud of him.

Proud of both boys, proud of the progress we’re making, and incredibly thankful for another weekend surrounded by some amazing friends.

The racing is pretty damn fun… but the people we get to do it with are what make these weekends so special. 🏁. As we wind down the season with just a couple weekends left we are gearing up and turning our attention to the big wedding of Tyson and Syd. Time to clean up the fingernails and be tuxedo prepared💍

Williston Update 🏁

Pretty cool night getting the 4X on track for the first time! Seeing Brennor run side-by-side with the 4T for a few laps was pretty damn cool. Two cars that wouldn’t be out there together without Troy Heupel. We can’t thank Troy enough for stepping up and giving Brennor the opportunity to keep racing this season. 💜

The night definitely made us earn it. Brennor suffered a broken gas pedal in the heat race, but Kyle and Dad weren’t about to let that end the night. A little determination, some thrashing in the pits, and we got the 4X put back together and rolled into the feature.

Brennor brought it home 7th in the feature in his first full night behind the wheel of the 4X. 👊

A few little things to work through, but that’s a pretty damn solid first outing with a new to us car after a thrash to get it race ready.

Most of all, we’re just grateful to still be racing. Thank you Troy. This opportunity means more to us than you probably know. And to Kyle, Kadi, Jason, Beau and the whole gang thanks for supporting and cheering as always!

The 4X chapter is officially underway. 🏁💜

I just want to take a minute and say thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday on our racing page. Friends, family, racers, sponsors and supporters…there were so many comments and messages, and I truly appreciate every one of them.

Racing has brought some pretty incredible people into our lives, and days like this remind me just how blessed I am. This racing family is about a whole lot more than cars and checkered flags.

Thank you all for being part of the ride and for making an old race dad feel pretty damn special! 🏁🍻💜

We want to wish a HUGE Happy Birthday to the guy that makes it all happen!! There is not a kinder,harder working, generous person than this man right here. He would do absolutely anything to make this family happy and safe and we could not be more proud to call him ours. So when you see Big Chris at the track tonight doing what he absolutely loves. Give him some love back!!

It’s been a wild couple weeks for Grinstead Racing, but once again we’re reminded just how incredible this racing family really is.

A couple weeks ago, Brennor had the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of Rob Stenvold’s #12 for the Ole Olson Memorial. He went out and won his heat race, then did a great job managing 40 laps in the feature in a car he had never driven before. The biggest goal was to race hard, respect the equipment, and hand Rob his car back in one piece. Mission accomplished.

We can’t thank Rob and his crew enough for trusting Brennor with that opportunity. Just absolute standup people, and we’re grateful to have people like them in our racing family.

Then this past week, that racing family took care of us again. Troy Heupel stepped up in a HUGE way to help get Brennor into a car for the remainder of the season. We thrashed all week getting the new to us 4X machine together and were able to get some testing in at Estevan. We’ve got a couple little details to work through, but we’re extremely thankful to have a nice piece underneath him and a chance to finish this season the right way. Huge thank you to Troy for making that possible.

Tyson had himself one heck of a Championship Night in Estevan. Started deep and drove forward 9 spots to finish 2nd in the feature, which tied him for runner-up in the season points championship. That’s a damn solid season and something he should be proud of.

Sunday we headed to Minot for the $2,000-to-win Memorial show. Tyson was putting together another solid night before some tough luck late in the feature. A couple cars got tangled up in front of him, and while trying to avoid the wreck he unfortunately sustained enough damage that he wasn’t able to finish. Sometimes racing just deals you a crappy hand.

These last couple weeks have been exhausting, humbling, frustrating and pretty damn rewarding all at the same time.

When we needed help, people stepped up. When we needed an opportunity, doors opened. That’s what makes this racing community so special.

We’re still here. Still working. Still racing. And still incredibly thankful for everyone who helps keep these boys chasing their dreams one lap at a time. 🏁💜💛

Two nights at one of our absolute favorite places, McLean County Speedway, and Tyson brought home a 6th-place feature finish both nights! It was odd to just have one car there this year but was awesome to focus on the Tornado!

Really proud of the composure he continues to show behind the wheel. He’s racing smart, keeping the car underneath him, and putting himself in position night after night.

The speed is there. The driver is there. We just need a little racing luck to finally fall our way and put all the pieces together.

We are so Proud of you, Tyson. Keep digging. That good night is coming! 🏁💪

After last night’s events, and the day to process it all, Brennor's goals that he set for the season still feel reachable...we weren’t sure if Brennor would even be able to climb into a race car. But thanks to Kyle for trusting him with his car, Brennor was able to grit through the pain and make a few laps
That he needed to keep his IMCA Stock Car State Championship hopes alive.

Watching your kid push through that kind of pain isn’t easy as a family. Every lap was earned. Although just a couple were made the fact he did it speaks volumes of His determination, toughness, and love for this sport, Sometimes the biggest victories don’t come with a checkered flag. Sometimes they’re simply refusing to quit when everything tells you to.

A huge thank you to Kyle for giving Brennor the opportunity. That kind of sportsmanship is what makes racing family so special.

On the other side of the nightTyson capped off a tremendous season with a 3rd place finish tonight and locked in 4th in the final points standings after battling all year long. He never quit digging, raced with class, and gave us another season to be proud of.

As parents, nights like this remind me that racing is about so much more than where you finish. It’s about character, perseverance, and the people who stand beside you when things get tough.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. The two boys continue daily to make us all so proud.

Last night in Mandan was one of those nights that reminds you just how quickly this sport can change.

Brennor was involved in an accident that sent the 51X rolling multiple times. Watching it happen is something no parent or race team ever wants to experience. The good news, and the only thing that truly matters, is that he will be ok.

The investment in quality safety equipment did exactly what it was supposed to do, and our chassis builder built a car that protected the driver when it mattered most. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who plays a part in making these race cars as safe as possible.

After being checked over at the hospital, Brennor was released. He’s very sore and, like the rest of us, pretty heartbroken. Unfortunately, the car is a loss, and at this point it may bring the 51X’s season to an early end. Any true racer or fan knows this means a week😂😉....

To our sponsors, we’re sorry. We know you believe in this team, and we hate that this isn’t the update we wanted to share. Thank you for standing behind us through the highs and the lows.

To our racing family, thank you doesn’t seem like enough. The people who ran to help, loaded trailers, picked up pieces, checked on Brennor, and simply stood beside us reminded us once again why this community is so special. We will never take that for granted. There are always the MVP's of these things, Kyle,the Rubys, Austin, the Christianson's, the Tomlinsons, the Stenvold's , Jason Berg, And countless others. You can't be thanked enough. We are lucky to have you all. Thank you to the crew of EMS people that assisted and did the right things to ensure treatment was correct and safe.

Race cars can be replaced. People can’t. Last night, we were reminded how fortunate we truly are.
The calls, texts, the people rushing to step in. The offers for others cars, the care, just all of it is humbling for sure. all of it is so overwhelming. It's appreciated more than anyone can truly know.

We’ll take some time, heal up, and figure out what comes next. No matter what, we’re thankful Brennor is always Brennor!
