Last week, we sent four athletes, two coaches, and two referees to NCTA Collegiate Nationals at the University of North Carolina! The tournament featured hundreds of athletes from prgrams across the country, and we sent students to compete in both sparring and poomsae. It was a great weekend of competition and hanging out with other teams, and we want to say a big THANK YOU to for hosting this year’s tournament!

Dear Taekwondo Community,

We regret to inform you that, due to a recent change of Stanford University rules, the 2026 Stanford Taekwondo Spring Open Tournament has been cancelled. We’ve discussed our options at length with the university, and it unfortunately doesn’t seem like there’s any way to align the event with current policies. We know this may come as a disappointment, and we apologize that this is happening so close to the event date.

We intend to stay involved in the local Taekwondo community moving forward and we are looking into ways to do so in light of changing circumstances, so we hope to see you at future events!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your patience as we’ve figured out the schedule for the PacWest North Regional. Stanford has confirmed that gyms will reopen today, so the tournament will take place tomorrow, February 21. Registration and weigh-ins will take place 12:00-1:00 PM, and competition will begin at 1:00 PM. The venue is unchanged.

We look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Hi Everybody,

Due to temporary facilities closures from a heating failure on the Stanford campus, the start time for the PacWest North Regional has been pushed back to 1:00 PM, with registration and weigh-in starting at 12:00 PM. We expect facilities to reopen by this time. This situation is, however, uncertain, so we are monitoring things closely and will let you know of any updates. If these closures are extended, there may be a postponement or a venue change, so please look out for future communications on this topic.

We deeply apologize for this inconvenience. We appreciate your flexibility with this last-second change, and look forward to seeing you all at the tournament.

Congratulations to all of our athletes who participated in our fall quarter belt test! They’ve been working incredibly hard up to this point, and it was wonderful to see all of their work pay off!!

This test was a big milestone for all of our athletes, especially as we start finals week and the end of the year. Great job everyone!! 👊🥋

On Sunday, November 23rd, Stanford Taekwondo competed at the annual UC Davis Fall Open Tournament. The competition involved athletes of all ages and levels from programs all throughout California. We sent athletes to compete in both kyorugi and poomsae, as well as several coaches, referees, and spectators.

This was a great competition to show off our athletes’ hard work, and our athletes look forward to training as we reach the end of the quarter. Thank you to the wonderful team .sc.tkd for all of their hard work running the tournament!!

On Saturday, November 8th, Stanford Taekwondo competed at the 2025 Berkeley Fall Open Tournament. Our athletes competed in both poomsae and kyorugi, and everyone brought home a gold medal!! 👊

🥇 Michelle Koo placed 1st in Women’s Black Belt Traditional Poomsae
🥇 Luiz Nunez placed 1st in Men’s Black Belt Traditional Poomsae
🥇 Jaylen Pittman placed 1st in Men’s White Belt Traditional Poomsae

Great job to all of our athletes who competed at this tournament! This was a great way to start off our competitions for the year, and we especially want to shout out Jaylen, Michelle, and Luis for their first collegiate competitions. A huge thank you to the team for putting on such a wonderful event!!
