Our final 2026 Heart Hero spotlight: Sedona and the Maver Family! ❤️

At 16, Sedona Maver is full of life—and every day getting here has been a deeply prayed-for gift.

As a baby, she struggled to grow. Because of a likely innocent murmur her pediatrician refused to ignore, we were sent to a cardiologist—and soon after to Stanford Children’s Health, where she was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We were told there were no guarantees. We lived her first year holding our breath.

And yet—she stayed. Every milestone, a miracle.

At 13, she received an implantable cardioverter defibrillator. On December 2, 2025, it saved her life when her heart stopped during a routine test. You don’t walk away from that unchanged.

Just months later, with a heart renewed by a newfound, unshakable faith, she chose to study abroad in Italy—choosing courage over fear.

Because of her, we know the present is life’s only promise. We share her story to raise awareness for genetic heart disease—to build community so no family walks alone, and in a desperate hope for a cure.

Sedona is our miracle—and our reminder to truly live.
