On May 26, 2026 three alumni wrestlers sprung into action in the town of Cornish to save lives. A home engulfed in flames, these three without hesitation ran to help, risking their own lives to save another.

Trevor Perkins ran into the burning home while Connor Nelson and William Warner ran to the neighbors house that was starting to catch fire in hopes to get everyone out. In which they did. These men saved lives on this day. A few businesses within Cornish wanted to recognize these three. The State of Maine being represented by Senator Libby, town selectmen, fire fighters and many others presented them with the first annual S**opee Valley Heroism Award.
