Day 2 of the 89th Invitational tees off with a family showdown that’s guaranteed to bring some extra spark to the fairways. Matt Moyse and his brother‑in‑law Brandon Butts are stepping up for a head‑to‑head battle, and it’s shaping up to be one of the day’s most entertaining matchups.

What an incredible first day out on the course. There was great competition, great energy, and a lot of impressive golf. A huge congratulations to our Medalist, Ryan Curran, who fired a fantastic 67 to lead the field. Outstanding playing, Ryan.

The Match Play brackets for tomorrow are now available and attached below. They’re hand‑printed — apologies for that — but we wanted to get them out to everyone as quickly as possible.

A few notes for tomorrow’s round:

All players will compete in twosomes, except for the Senior Flight.

We’re thrilled to kick off our 89th Invitational at Stamford Golf Club this weekend! The course is in fantastic shape, and we’re excited to welcome 72 of our closest friends for another year of camaraderie, competition, and great memories at the Club.

Qualifying begins tomorrow with an 11am shotgun start, and matches tee off Saturday morning.

🍳 The restaurant will be serving breakfast sandwiches and Bloody Mary specials starting at 9am Friday and Saturday... the perfect start to a great day on the course.
🚫 Please, no outside alcohol.

Looking ahead, our Men’s and Women’s Club Championships are next weekend — sign up in the Pro Shop to secure your spot.
And registration is now open for The Barber, our annual 2‑man scramble honoring our dear friend Jon Barber, who made unforgettable memories in this event (including two Holes‑in‑One back in 2023).

A beautiful course, great friends, and a full calendar of golf ahead; let’s make it a weekend to remember! ⛳️

Dear friends and family.

Unfortunately, I’m here again with disappointing news about vandalism on our golf course. Tonight we discovered 46 divots and several other intentional damage marks on our putting green. This wasn’t from normal play or someone practicing long chips — it was a deliberate attempt to harm the surface.

With our 89th Invitational just a week away, our team is working hard to keep the course in top shape. It’s frustrating and disheartening that someone would show so little respect for our Club and create damage that our staff now has to spend extra time repairing.

On the bright side, the Bell boys got a crash course in fixing ball marks and now they say they’re owed ice cream for their hard work.

As always: If you see something, say something.

What an incredible day for our 21st Annual Queen of the Catskills Tournament. We were thrilled to welcome 72 amazing ladies to the course, and you brought the energy, the camaraderie, and the competitive spirit that make this event so special.

A heartfelt thank you to all our players, the dedicated volunteers, and our hardworking staff. Your enthusiasm and effort are what make this tournament shine year after year.

21st Annual Queen of the Catskills Ladies Golf Tournament

We’re looking forward to a wonderful weekend as Stamford Golf Club hosts the 21st Annual Queen of the Catskills Ladies Golf Tournament this Saturday, beginning at 9am. With 72 golfers and a dedicated team of volunteers, it promises to be a great day on the course.

This year, a portion of our proceeds will support the Catskill Mountain Little League, helping encourage the next generation of young athletes in our community.

A sincere thank‑you to our 40 sponsors for your continued generosity. Your support strengthens women’s golf and benefits our local community.

The Stamford Women’s Golf Association is proud to welcome new members. We offer a friendly, respectful environment, lasting friendships, and a true sense of community—far beyond league play.

We look forward to a successful tournament and a memorable day for all. Good luck to our players. We’ll see you Saturday, where you’ll be treated like Queens.
