Portland Junior Beach

Portland Junior Beach Summer beach volleyball clinics and tournaments for boys and girls 12-18 years of age. Players do not need to have a partner to attend clinics.

Portland Junior Beach is in it’s 11th year of running clinics and tournaments. This beach program is for intermediate to advanced players, however beginner clinics will be offered for players who are new to beach. We recommend that players have a good knowledge of the indoor game and have played on a team. Players will be working on partnering skills for beach doubles not learning how to play vol

leyball for the first time. Players can choose how many clinics they want to attend. Sign up for tournaments is separate from clinic registration. Registration forms for both clinics and tournaments can be downloaded at portlandjuniorbeach.com. Wendy Stammer is Portland Junior Beach’s director and founder. Wendy played professionally indoor as well as beach quads and beach doubles after her college career at LSU. Playing on teams in Italy, Germany and the United States, Wendy competed at the professional level for 18 years.

Working together this past weekend at Delker Dunes, PJB had four new champions. Saturday’s 14U tournament turned out to be a little wet but the players powered through. Winning the Gold bracket was the team of Madeline and Tenley with Stella and Olivia taking home the Silver bracket championship. With better weather and lots of laughs, the Summer’s 1st Parent Child went off with out a hitch. No Ibuprofen needed for the Gold Champions of Poppy and Jesse or the Silver champions, Jane and Scot. Great job to alll teams who competed last Saturday and Sunday. More pics to come!

PJB kicked of the doubles tournament season Memorial Day weekend with it’s first 14U tournament. Maeve and Georgia went undefeated for the Gold Championship. The Silver Championship went to the team of Vivien and Callie. What a great weekend of family and fun! Great job to all of the teams who participated.

PJB 14u tournaments start on May 23rd. I need at least four teams to run my tournaments and I already have that in all age groups. Here are the updated tournament numbers.
