Our final meet of the season was spent celebrating our senior swimmer, Grayson Hersey, who swam his last ever home meet as a DST Gator! We are so thankful to have Gray swim for DST for so many years and we wish him the best of luck at Gettysburg College next year!

We also recognized our Head Coach Devin Neil, who will be leaving DST after this season. Coach Devin first joined DST in 2021 as an Assistant Coach and was promoted to Head Coach in 2022, making this Coach Devin’s sixth season with the team. Thank you Coach Devin for everything you’ve done both on and off deck over the years to make DST such a successful team!

This year, DST had one Senior swimmer on our team - Grayson Hersey. We are so thankful to have Grayson be part of our team for so many years and we wish him the best of luck as he moves on to Gettysburg College in the fall. Once a Gator, Always a Gator!

🐊 DST Senior Swimmer Tribute - Grayson Hersey 🐊

Grayson’s swimming career almost never happened. He began as a devotee of the pool steps but through lots of coaxing, candy rewards, and “coaching” from a famously stern instructor he eventually jumped in. When he finally did swim, he went real fast.

Gray graduated this spring from DeMatha Catholic High School with Honors. A four year varsity letterman at DeMatha, Gray contributed to four major championships for the Stags winning the WCAC, WMPSSDL, National Catholic Championship, and the famous Metropolitan Championship. He was named co-captain for his senior season.

Gray has been swimming for Annapolis Swim Club since 2015 and Davidsonville since 2018 where he has been a junior coach for the past three years. Gray is always offering fist bumps, carrying cones, and encouraging our youngest swimmers. He has also helped many younger swimmers gain more confidence in the pool.

Gray will begin his collegiate swimming career with the Bullets of Gettysburg College this coming fall. He will miss swimming in green next summer but will always be a Gator and will be back next summer to cheer on his sisters; Lulu and Blake, and all his Gator friends.

The third record setting swim on Wednesday was swum by Caroline Martin! Caroline broke the Womens 15-18 100M Individual Medley record, previously held by Ashley Connor, with a new record time of 1:10.61.

Caroline also lowered her own Womens 15-18 50M Breaststroke record at the Indian Hills meet with a new record time of 36.15.

There were not one, not two, but THREE team records broken at the Crofton CATS meet on Wednesday!

First up is Lulu Hersey, who broke the Girls 13-14 100 Meter Individual Medley record, previously held by Ashley Connor, with a new record time of 1:11.23.

Lulu also broke the Girls 13-14 50 Meter Fly record, previously held by Skye Bilger since 2018, with a new record time of 32.65.

Our next meet will be on Wednesday 7/1 with the Crofton CATS at the Crofton Swim and Tennis Club. DST warm-ups will be from 5:00-5:25 PM and the meet will start at 5:30PM. GO GATORS! 🐊

The DST Gators are on the road tomorrow for our first away meet of the season at Hillsmere! Please arrive by 7:15 AM to get settled and get ready for warmups. DST warmups will start at 7:25AM and the meet starts at 8AM! GO GATORS! 🐊

The DST Gators traveled to the Hillsmere Hammerheads on Saturday for our third dual meet of the season. There were some close races across all age groups that came down to a touch! The final score was DST Gators 267, Hillsmere Hammerheads 237. We now have:

🥇33 Gold Meet qualifiers
🥈81 Silver Meet qualifiers

Updated championship meet qualifier reports have been posted on the website. There are just two more regular season meets left!
