Slowing it down ...
I've practiced sound meditation twice now and have learned so much.
Most importantly - it's so hard for me to slow down.
Everything in life now is quick ... quick decisions, quick meetings, quick emails, quick phone calls ....
Even though I consider myself mindful, I still can be 'quick' in my mindfulness and move to the next thing/idea/task.
Teaching classes today felt a little different bringing this concept in while I taught.
As instructors, we always try to practice what we preach ... but sometimes it's easy to get into "teaching mode' (...for me at least...).
So even though I may have used my same instructions today, I tried to feel the difference in coming at it a little slower, rather than rushing.
Kind of a fun experiment.
If you want to try slowing it down on your own, try to take 3-5 deep breaths taking as long as you possibly can ....
Taking as long as you can to inhale, holding it for a moment ..
Then take as long as you can to exhale, breathing out every last bit of air, and then pausing for a moment before the next inhale.
