In this fast-paced society in which we live, we often get the message that we need to hustle and grind 24/7, sleep when we're dead, and that rest is wasting time that could be used "productively". Many of those in our society who are high-achieving and/or neurotypical market extensively for others to believe so. They sell programs about how "these 5-10 tips can help you stop wasting time and change your life." For those who have taken the courses, they often find that the list is of pretty basic things that the person selling the program found worked for them specifically. However, these lists often leave out one very key piece of information: just as failure is necessary for success, so is rest. Our bodies need the opportunity to rest and recharge to be at our most optimum levels.

The Secure Relationship

Today I had the privilege of being a part of a Zoom call with four beautiful women where I had this realization. Lately, I have been viewing “self care,” in all its forms, more as a requirement/burder. During the course of our conversation about caring, it truly struck my heart what a privilege it is that we get to care for the person who has been with us our entire lives. In light of that, I wanted to share this reminder, more for myself, but for you as well. We love it when we get to show caring, kind gestures to others, we are the only ones who have the privilege to do it for ourselves any time that we like. ❤️ ❤️

The folklore of the Phoenix traces back to the 5th century when Herodotus introduced the legend after visiting Egypt. Although the early stories did not mention the Phoenix being reborn from fire, it is this idea of regeneration from destruction that has gained popularity as the story has evolved throughout the centuries. Offering hope to multitudes that out of our greatest defeats, hope can triumph and renewal is possible.
It is this message that I hope we can all promote moving forward through this life. We can rise from the ashes of our past and embrace our inner strength as we move toward a brighter future.

My hope for the world is that we all learn to illuminate our inner power. We are all inherently valuable simply for being lucky enough to be alive. Our current society does its best to beat that knowledge out of us as we age. Let’s work together to find your inner power and bring it back into the light so that you can learn to live your life with mindfulness knowing your worth.
