Louis Men's Baseball League was started in 1996 as a non-profit recreational organization dedicated to providing an opportunity for men over 18 years of age in the St. Louis Metropolitan area to play real baseball in a competitive, professionally-run environment, and enjoy the camaraderie of other serious-minded amateur players from all walks of life, economic statuses and ethnic backgrounds. All
players in the 40+ division must be at least 40 or will reach their 40th birthday anytime during the calendar year. Each year consists of a regular season and a playoff season. Trophies are awarded to each division champion. Mid-year the league has held in the past a home run derby available to all league players, a father-son game, hall of fame ceremony, and an all-star game consisting of players from each team, and food and drink for players and fans during the weekend of events. Last year, each team played 22 games and those who made it played another 5 playoff games. League dues were $4,000 per team and included field rentals, umpire fees and game balls. Although the game schedule for 2018 is not yet set, STLMBL games start in April. The Marauders baseball club started in 2016 with the goal of having fun while competing in a game they love. In 2018, the Marauders will field teams in both the 30s and 40s divisions.
