Most of us like to see our kids struggle a little, because we know that from similar struggles, we’ve come out better in the end, personally. ✅ The mistake, I think, is that we just let them suffer through it alone.

A better approach, I have found, is to speak to them about the situation, share stories of how normal it is and how you, yourself, have been thru similar situations, and it’s “ok” to be “in this place” at this moment in time.

Then, show them the vision of what “the other side of this” looks like, so they can see the big picture.

🤝 We all tend to believe that we’re the only ones going thru it and that something is broken, or wrong with us.

📈 Once an athlete understands that “this is all normal for all of us and is simply part of it” …then, they can accept it as part of the common journey and not become discouraged.

- Keep mentoring them thru it all…and one day your kids will be able to learn to accept struggle and work thru things on their own as a young adults.
